  1.     I was content with the time period back then. I wouldn't want to start over unless I could without this pain.

  2. I say Ditto to Susie s.

I am contented to be exactly where the good Lord has me.

I've had a Blessed life & I'm grateful to still be here, and watching my grandchildren grow.

My heart aches for what's ahead of them.

This world is so full of evil & now we face the possibility of a Muslim rooted man shouting change, wanting to be our US of A president.

Change !!!!! Wake up America. Read the facts. Take your blinders off. A vote for Barrack Hussain Obama, that will be the beginning of the end of our freedom as we have known it in America.

God Bless America, Our Military & "we thank you" & God Bless Us

  3. I wouldn't have missed the sixties. . .seventies weren't too bad either. . .much more fun then. . .there really were things to do!

  4. I would not want to be young again in this world.

There is too much crime-no one gets anywhere near the punishment they are due, old people are frightened to go out day or night.

Mothers are frightened to let their children out of their sight, and criminals are getting away with murder.

Who in their right senses would want be young in these horrible days, definitely not me.

  5. I had a lot "contempt" when I was younger that's why I refused to attend any and all of my class reunions. No way would I be young again if I even had the chance! Once down that path was enough.

  6. I was a 50's girl and I was sitting on top of the world.

My journey through life has been a good trip.

Now I can sit back and reminisce of those "Happy Days at The Hop."

I really feel I was dealt a  full house most of my life.

73 and lovin' that peaceful easy feelin'.

    DeeJay.

  7. Do you mean "content"?

I wouldn't go back for anything in the world, but i would like to look younger than I do.

  8. I worked hard for my grey hairs, and I don't want to repeat the process, thank you.  Perhaps in the next reincarnation........

    Peace.

I'll be as young as I feel (on a daily basis.)

  9. I am content with things the way they are...

  10. Hiya Half Drawn. I'm glad I lived my youth when I did in the 60s and early 70s. My folks said the same thing about their youth in the 1930s and 40s.

  11. Young as I was, certainly not now!

  12. I enjoyed the 50's as a kid, the 60's as an young adult etc. etc.

No I wouldn't want to be young today. The history I witnessed is not replaceable. I was 13 living in Arlington,VA. when Kennedy was killed.

That was an experience that can't be duplicated. The music world was making big changes at this time.It went from Do-w*p,to three chord rock and roll (Beatles) to Jim Morrison and The Doors in 1966.The Apollo missions and going to the moon (1969) than by Thanksgiving of that year I was landing in Saigon for my tours.Through the good and the bad I am happy with my life and wouldn't change a thing.

  13. just joking but 10% of the youth are contempt -- but back to the question  -- i am very happy with my life at the present time!!!  a lot of great friends and not a worry in the world!!!

  14. contempt or  content?

  15. I am content.  Kids today have so many more choices and so little guidance.  Too many parents are AWOL.

  16. I loved growing up in the years that I did.  I think to grow up now would be exciting with all the new technology  but the young folks have a lot of problems facing them  so yes I would say from 1952 to now.

  17. Hi HDB - even if it were possible - I would not want to go back and be young in this day and age.  I agree with Suzie s comment.  This world is in a real mess and its not going to get better any time soon.

  18. I know what you mean. I'm not content. I wish I could do it over and do it right but of course we all know that's a crazy thought.

  19. completely content . i feel more peaceful now than ever before .  d.

  20. I'd never want to be a child today. It's hard enough to cope as an adult

with the state of affairs today. I grew up in the early 40's through

to the early 60s. I know what it's like to have life mysteries to try to

solve. And that includes not knowing how to kiss a boy by the age of

15 or 16. Holding hands and being tender with a boy, was the acceptible norm, back when, instead of hand groping and being on

birth control as so many young girls are today. Both boys and girls

were expected home at a certain hour and quite often, not even allowed

out on a school night.  And rare were we allowed to go in a car with a

boy that young. Most of us had parents we had to report to when we

left to go anywhere. And we sure had to be home before it got dark

anytime we left the house. Even if it was to go to a girlfriends' house.

There wasn't peer pressure to smoke, or do anything harmful. The

closest we came to peer pressure, was keeping up with fad clothes.

To wear anything odd, made you a nerd. Wearing glasses was a bad

thing, as that put you into a category for being smart, even if you

weren't. If they found out you weren't, that harder on you.

The only extreme behavior I encountered on the negative side, was

when three teenaged boys ripped off a Halloween bag from my girl-

friend and I, when we were 14. That was the last time we went trick or

treating. It was getting too wild out there at night for us.

I feel sorry for all of the kids today, and the peer pressure they must

feel in keeping up, to be accepted. The insecurities they must all have

knowing what is going on in the world and how unsafe it is to even

leave your house at night. That goes for adults as well.

Perhaps they worry about the draft being re instigated. I know boys

in my time, were worried alot about not especially going into the

service, but rather getting accepted by the branch they were in favor

of joining. In any case, I don't believe that same pride is felt by young

men and women today, unless they have some special motives to

join. I think they'ed mostly be content to work at McDonalds, live at

home, and have a little pocket money for dating. Or maybe saving for

a used car. I don't feel that kids today  have the same drive and de-\

termination to make something of themselves that my generation did.

I hope I'm wrong on that, seeing what our country is like today. There

has to be responsible leadership to run our country. There need to be

new laws limiting terms of holding office without allowing someone to

be elected more than a second term. There needs to be new blood

running our country. Not the same tired and slipshod way of doing

things to benefit the politicians and lining their pockets. We need

young people to get  interested in politics and have a goal to better our

country and get it out of the muck that's been rising over the years.

No, I'd gladly live the life of innocense of my youth all over again. I

    love a good mystery.
