... the energy companies was used that extra dollar for exploration in alternative fuels like solar, wind, nuclear, hydro, etc?

If you look at my PAST best answers then you know I hate long drawn out essays and many times voted for the best 250 to 500 word paragraphs.

  1. No. Odds are they would just say they are using it for that and pocket the extra.


  2. I drive a prius, so it's like paying $2 a gal instead of 4 because I get twice the mileage.

  3. I would love to pay only $ 4 or even $ 5 for a gallon of gas.

    At the moment I am paying $ 13 for a gallon here in Sweden.

  4. No, not necessarily.  A lot of "alternative fuels" are gimmicks that won't ever work.

    What I would support is if they used the extra dollar to fund a train/subway system.  

  5. People will say they would be ok with that. But i doubt it. The majority would still complain.

    Myself i know i would. At least im being honest.
