Would you prefer to see the new AFL team go to Tasmania instead of the Gold coast?

Personaly I would love to see a team down in tassie instead of Queensland. What do you reckon?

The Gold Coast is where the Bears (now the lions) 1st started and failed, what's changed? Tasmania is a true blue Aussie rules state, they could get a supporter base that would make any AFL team jealous. My money would go to the Tasmanians.

Well i reckon there is only going to be like two supporters for the new Gold Coast team. no-one in QLD likes AFL. i moved to Melbourne from QLD about 6 months ago and i went to a school that was totally against AFL. but if the AFL wants a Gold Coast team then its fine by me.

I'm not much of an AFL supporter, but I believe the people of Tasmania have been stooged, by not getting an AFL team.

It would have full state support, so they deserve one.  

Maybe North Melbourne, Richmond or Melbourne could, or should move there.

Definitely. Tasmania have more of a football support base than Queensland. The Brisbane Lions are already struggling to gain supporters from QLD, and introducing a new team into what you could say was 'rugby league territory' is not going to help! A Tasmanian team would be able to earn a profit, and support itself financially, since it would gain many supporters in a state that enjoys AFL.Look how many people already go to Hawthorn games from Tassie! The two new franchises should be in Tasmania and Northern Territory - Places that really appreciate AFL, not rugby dominated states that already have AFL teams such as NSW and QLD.

Absolutely, There is no real Tassie teams and having a Tassie team people in the Tassie area can go to Auroua stadium more often instead of 2 games a year. Also one for Darwin because Darwin has got no AFL team and they need to have one as they do have a stadium (Manarra) and people there who are big AFL fans can go there.

Yes.

I'd rather see a team in Tassie than a new one established elsewhere - but I don't think it could survive. They would need a big amount of dollars channelled into the club to get it established & would need a help from the AFL from then on. I am sure that is the reason the AFL wont consider putting a team there.
