Would you pull the handle?

Question

There is a train heading towards a group of schoolchildren. The track splits ahead, and there is a fat constuction worker on the track. So fat, in fact, that the train would stop completely if it hit him. Do you pull the handle and kill the man to save the children. Do you have the right to change their fates? Hey, give me a star if you like the question, tee hee.

wow.. well i wold probably pull the lever but the children are dim anuf to be playing in the rood.

No I wouldn't.

The children shouldn't be there.

But the fat man should.

Why should he have to die?

Plus I'd probably go to jail for pulling the handle that killed him.

No you don't have the right.  But sometimes accidents can't be avoided.  You choose the solution that would cause harm to the fewest number of people.

yes. hopefully, the fat will absorb the pain and he'll live. probably not though.
