I have been offered Laurence Maroney in exchange for Ricky Williams. Should I accept this offer? Please support your answer!!

Note: This is a PPR league. My current RBs are Westbrook, T. Jones, Forte, Felix Jones, Ricky, Chester Taylor, and Chris Perry. We start 2 RB's & a flex.

  1. Get Maroney for sure. Pats will need to keep D honest this year if they dont want to get Brady killed.  Ricky Williams is a luxury guy.  Sure he could possibly be a good back this year but Maroney is unquestioned #1 with fresh legs.

  2. Pull the trigger!

Ricky will be in a running back by committee situation with R.Brown.

Plus Maroney would be an excellent add on in a 2 for 1 trade to improve your starting line up,because he's being often drafted several rounds earlier then Ricky.(So his percieved value is higher then Rickys.) For instance I'd offer:Maroney+T.Jones for MJD,or R.Grant,

or W.McGahee.(Or package Maroney with another position to improve that position)~~G{}{}d Luck

  3. Take that!

ricky williams will share time with ronnie brown

and the patriots look like they are going to run the ball a bit more this year and maroney is a big, power back that showed flashes of excellence in the playoffs

  4. i would keep willaims hes goin to have a good year although maroney will catch alot of passes lamont jordan is going to be punching in alot of tds for the pats

  5. Laurence Maroney was used significantly in the final weeks of 2007, and in the postseason. The lack of meaningful work early might have been because of a shoulder injury. Without any health issues entering '08, Maroney could provide the numbers he produced down the stretch for an entire season. However, Sammy Morris is still around, which hurts Maroney's value some.  The Patriots might not be as interested in setting passing records this year -- and that could mean more production from Maroney

Ricky Williams looked "every bit the best player on the field" during Dolphins Organized Team Activities, according to the Miami Herald. Ricky reportedly looked quick and ran with authority. CBS' Charley Casserly says "The guy jumped out at you" in the practices he viewed and suggests Williams could have a late-career resurgence a la John Riggins.

The Ricky hype is heavy this year.. Remember that this is a guy who couldn't make it seven carries in 2007 before ripping apart his pectoral muscle.

    I would choose Maroney

  6. I would take it in a second! Ricky hasn't proven to be a consistent back since the 2003  I believe. Maroney has one spectacular year and one so-so year. The leagues defenses should have caught on to the Pats throwing the ball every d**n down, so I believe the running game will be utilized more this season resulting in more touches for Maroney.

  7. i would do it. laurence maroney is the #1 back for the patriots and ricky williams still shares carries with ronnie brown. maroney will probably get more TDs than ricky.
