The idea of the picture came when I visited the British embassy Rome to change my passport. As I sat at the desk I saw the picture of the young queen Elizabeth on the wall and felt very ,very British. I am not a royal fan but In the past the queen and her family gave the British people the support to get through very difficult times. I think she deserves our respect for that.

The picture is now on the wall and it is a talking point....thanks everyone

  1. all ready do mate,

rule britania & god save the queen

  2. yes to keep the flies off the meat

  3. We used to have H.M Queen Elizabeths portrait displayed at work and then the PC brigade came in and decided it  should be removed.

  4. Not being British, No.  However, I understand that a lot of her subjects do.

I lived in Spain a long time ago, and remember that Royal Family portraits were for sale in many locations.  Must be a royal subject thing...wouldn't put a portrait of the President, no matter how much I liked him, on my wall, either.

  5. No, but I think you should, it would be a great conversation starter.

  6. You mean next to the one I already have?

I am a proud Brit, though don't live in Britain right now, and I like to have Her Majesty's portrait on my wall (a rather stunning poster of one of the Queen's portraits by Caecil Beaton).

Apart from the imense respect I have for the Queen, she is also a living symbol of Britain, for me at least.

Whatever people might say, Her Majesty has dedicated whole her life to serving her country, and for me, having the Queen's portrait on my wall means not only patriotism, but also a sort of 'thank you' for all these years of magnificent service.

  7. yes to use as a dartboard

  8. no, sorry why ?

  9. No; I don't believe I know anyone who would. I don't think many British people are that patriotic.

  10. No, why would I want to ...   I've got a picture of her on a stamp and a ten pound note!

  11. Only if it was a quenuinely good piece of art, not because of the subject especially.

I'd be equally likely to put up a pic of some random old biddy if it was a great piece of art and showed me something about her.

  12. no.

  13. No, i am English, not British & i think the Royals stand for the Old British Empire, so Outdated.

  14. If I was Brittish and loved my royal family?

Why not?? I feel patriotic sometimes and there;'s nothing wrong with it. Whenever you feel like - just do it :) As long as you don't feel stupid when others visit you and you will have to explain why!

  15. No i wouldn't because she is not a member of my family......... and neither is she one of my friends... I don't have much space on my walls for insignificant people i don't know or have never met.

  16. if i was British i would

  17. Nope, can't say I would.

  18. Never.

  19. no  way

  20. Almost definitly not. I am not very fond of our royals. They are humans just like us and they never practise what they preach do they?

  21. Absolutely not!

I have photos of my loved ones on my walls.
