Question

ask an uncle for a job if he was in a position to give you / get you to your dream job?

or would you be too proud and waste years of your life trying to get the job on your own?

If you are qualified for the job, why wouldn't you talk to your uncle about it?

If you are not qualified for the job, why not talk to your uncle about what you need to do/learn to prepare for the job?

If you don't want to ask specifically for a job with him, why not ask him to help you with some information and/or contacts in the business to get you started?

Is there anything wrong with asking family for advice or legitimate help?  I don't think so.
