Hi,

So I have what I thought a stable job,,, have been with this company for 5 years and have been ok with them. This is in the It field and because of te nature of the job i have been relocated 3 times. , the pay is ok, and growing hasnt been happening. I have taken some certifications to improve my skills and have wokring hard during the last 2 years to get paid some more. I requested to be relocated back to where I started and they just told me 15 days before i move there they will pay me the same as when I started ( 5 years ago) . Am currently in the states and am from India(where I will be relocated) so it does not make any sense to me I will be paid slightly 4% more of what I used to make when I started,,, I am SO pissed and I just wanna throw away this computer,,, I think Im gonna quit. I want them to put me back in india, pay a bonus for relocation get there get travel expenses and wait 2, 3 weeks and say I am sorry i cant afford accepting this lame salary ;'-( , shoud I?

  1. dont jump the gun and hold on to your senses, yes go ahead and let them take you to your requested site, get resettled but DO NOT QUIT unless you have another one lined up, what if you get back home and quit then find yourself out of job and money?  think a little and plan out your escape out of this job, with things the way they are, you may get home and find jobs are hard to come by, just like here in the states, at least you would still have a job and your benefits which is very important

  2. you should take a huge dump on their rug like todd packer did on Micheal scotts rug in the office. sorry im not much help but thats what i would do!! b******s!

  3. If you requested the transfer back - then they may not pay relocation expenses.  In my company - if they ask you to move, they pay relocation. If you request a transfer, they do not.

What is the standard of living in India? If it is lower than where you are leaving - that is why they reduced your salary.  In theory, you would be in about the same place as you are now since expenses there are less.  If you were going to an area where the cost of living was higher-- they should raise the salary they are paying you.

What ever you decide to do....just make sure you don't burn any bridges if you leave the company. You never know when you may need to come back to that company or need a reference.

  4. you can look at it 2 ways: think rationally (we are in a semi-crappy economy right now) and just suck it up...or think about the "whole" picture (why would you stay in a situation that makes you miserable?  if you are miserable at work it will spill into your personal life.)  if it were me-i think the determining factor would be (financially) i could afford to be outta work for a bit once i quit my crappy job.

    GOOD LUCK!

  5. I would bring it up with your manager-supervisor-boss

(whoever can make things happen) explain to him/her that you aren't sure if it is worth the pay cut to move back and that you either must insist on more money or find an alternate plan.

  6. sounds like they are jerking you around. you have every right to be ticked off!! There is no reason to cut your pay after 5 yrs of service and improvement. your skills could be used in many business's in America but if your goal is to go home, let them pay for it before you quit. That's what they get for outsourcing at cheaper pay
