I am an engineer.  You should have said a wedding planner or a homeless paraplegic.  I'll take the latter!

Engineering involves logic, reason, problem solving, application of the laws of physics, thermodynamics, etc.  Rational decisions are made on a cost/benefit basis.

Pretty much the exact opposite of a wedding planner who must deal with multiple "brides to be" and their mothers who have unrealistic images of their wedding day.  They make irrational decisions and change their minds on a whim.

Perhaps the closest career to a wedding planner would be a construction project manager.
