  1. Coming from someone who was born with anosmia (no sense of smell) I would choose that over being color blind anyday.

    EDIT***

Seeing some other answers on here from people assuming that if you can't smell you can't taste, that is wrong. I am living proof of that. I can tell the difference between chocolate and an orange per say. Everything has a different taste so I know that what I taste is real and it is not in my head.

It may be true for people who were born able to smell who lost this sense later but it is only by comparison. If you could never smell then you don't know what it would be like to taste anything differently then you do.

  2. Color Blind.  It least affects the ability to enjoy a good glass of wine.

  3. I'm sure everyone would say neither, and I would say the same thing. If I had to pick, it would be no sense of smell. Colors describe so many things to you. Smell can do the same thing, but not in the detail of colors.

  4. i would rather have no sense of smell cuz i wont smell any gas

  5. Oh brother.  Just who would pose this dilemma on anyone?  I would not like to have to make that choice.

I should impart that the sense of smell and its neurological line, goes direct to the brain -- it is at once.

There is no midpoint before arriving in the brain, which stands as a curious feature as regards human physiological evolution and survival, and is among the mammals generally the strongest and most unfailing of the senses, which lets on it must be considerably important and I suppose a central equipage and benefit for sake of sharpest awareness.  Cf., most mammals and certainly fishes can smell particulates that are scores of miles away, whereas they cannot 'see' or 'hear' over those same distances.

I think I should bear my sense of smell and forfeit my color acuity, if I were posed with that choice at birth.

  6. From an evolutionary point of view the sense of smell is far more important than color vision.  There are plenty of animals that have no sense of color at all, for example, elephants.  But they absolutely need their senses of smell.

Ansel Adams did all of his photograph in black in white as he felt it distracted from his art.  But he loved his Napa wine.

    Dwell on smell

    Color me blind

    I'd rather be

    normal to wine.

  7. I think no sense of smell.

I have a friend who was fighting (playfully) with someone and they sat on his head and from that moment on he has no sense of smell of taste. He is really pissed off about it. Do you want red or brown sauce on your burger?

  8. If I had a choice, no sense of smell.

  9. no sense of smell

  10. wow that is a tough question.lol

i guess no sense of smell.

without smell. i couldn't taste, so i'd never over eat.

i would always be slim and look great in my coordinated outfits that I could pick out, cause i wouldn't be color blind.

  11. Neither. CB

  12. correct me if im wrong , but if you lose your sense of smell i think you also lose your sense of taste as well. so its 2 for 1 there, being colour blind would be like being on a constant acid trip, you can still see everything fine its just the colours may be different at times. i would go for colour blind cuz i want to be able to taste the flavour of food and the taste of sweet girls kisses.

  13. There's no contest on this one - color blind.  It would be annoying not to be able to see all the wonderful colors of life.  You'd be able to deal with it, though.  That would be easier, and less dangerous, than being born without a sense of smell.  Sure, you'd miss out on the flowers and your significant other's perfume/cologne, etc.  You would also not have to deal with skunks, bodily functions, etc.  For most things, you don't need to smell, and you'd deal with it.  However, the thing that would scare me, and  would be extremely dangerous, is not being able to smell smoke, gas, and other potentially damaging/lethal odors.
