Would you rather be with someone who is nice but fake, or a complete jerk but real..and what are your signs?

Okay, so basically what I'm asking is if you would rather be involved with someone who is always very friendly and kind on the outside, but does so in a superficial or fake manner, not ever expressing their true thoughts or opinions....

Or

Would you rather be with someone who is mean spirited, rude, even cruel, but is very true to themselves. They do not try to hide anything, and there is no hidden agenda or facade, they are who they are and admit it.

I know that they both are unfavorable, but for the sake of this question, tell me which one you feel is the lesser of two evils.

Tell me your Sun/Moon/Rising as well.

nothing is scarier than a nice but fake person. u dono what they're thinking so u can't be genuinely nice to them w/o thinking what their true thoughts are. that is unless, they do such a brilliant job of covering up their fakeness that i can't notice!

at least with the jerk, we can disagree w each other truthfully. u don get that w a fake person. so yep, i'll go with the jerk lol. me too not much patience for superficiality.

Nice but fake. Even though you're faking it, you could get used to being nice that it becomes your nature and over time, you realize that it's better than what you truly are that you convince yourself to change.

The bad to the bone one.

I've always viewed love as more about "Why?" than "What?" It's gonna be hard to get over the fact that her affections could have been as fake WHEN the truth is revealed in the future.

Besides, some of my closest friends were bad news but I managed to look past their faults. Once I look past my girl's short-comings, there's nothing left to see but her good side.

But, I see hope in both although I probably wouldn't be with either in the first place.

I'd make the realist jerk my best friend and go to her for advice or when i need a reality check.

The superficial one i would just make an aquaintance, so i have someone to call when im bored or someone to go shopping with if all my other friends arent available.

So i guess i choose the realist jerk

*well relationship-wise, i have to think about it. Im very sensitive so i dont think i could take being with a rude man thats real. I get upset easily. but then again HONESTY is a must so the superficial guy would not be an option. aagghh i cant choose.

definately the true jerk.  we'd get along great cos I can't stand fake people.  We'd get along especially when I get to know them cos when I have a strong opinion about something I can let loose!  I love real people who I know I can depend on them and know that what they say one minute is gonna be the same thing tomorrow :)  Very comforting to me

Good question, I actually have encountered both of these people you've described.

The fake one is probably the devil in disguise so I at all costs stay away from them, but if it was me, I'd be the fake superficial one. As much as I also depise superficiality I also depise hurting others and showing people what I really feel because than they think they know me when in truth they don't. I must admit I can be paranoid at times and I always think people are out to get me, so I never let anyone in too deep. I hate getting personal with people, and I can't stand people who are like me...I like it when others get personal with me but I struggle to get personal with others.

I value my privacy so much that I let no one in, so if this question was a "Which one are you?" one I'd be the superficial, nice one. I'd be with the mean, critical (I'm hoping), cruel guy. He wouldn't be as complicated to figure out as the superficial one that trys to hide their feelings. I can tolerate someone whos mean, and brutally honest, in fact I embrace people who are like that, they push me, inspire me. They motivate me, plus I think guys who are jerks are really just insecure inside, and I want to help them.

I don't know..just my opinion lol.

i love this question!!!!!!!!!! lol i wouldn't be a jerk... i'm friendly and always pacific some people get annoyed by that, somethimes my attitute is rude towards them but i won't change the truth is that sometimes i make jokes with the truths.... i'm pretty weird because all my classmates are soo friendly you know almost 3 years of knowing each other.... i'm shy i won't tell but i don't like to greet people if i'm not going to say something interesting or something useful... sometimes people try to include me in their groups with jokes and conversations... but no the truth is that i don't care about that :S i know that's not my style i won't be joking and doing stupid things... that in fact many people join to make only stupid things! i'm more chill-out i do have fun but not in the ways that popular people do.... hahaha X what was the question?

well...i'll be honest here...honesty is the best policy is what i always say.hehe

i probably AM the stereotypical jerk who tells it like it is. i don't mean to be rude, and i do know when to shut up, but sometimes words just come out.

sometimes people will be like, "am i good, or what??" and i'll fall into one of my blunt spells and go, "meh...i've seen better...".

i don't try to be rude, i try to be honest. i earn myself a number of thumbs downs on Y/A for my honesty, but that's ok. some ppl are too weak and need sugar-coated answers. fine w/ me.

I'd rather someone who was a jerk and down to earth. at least they told me the truth, so it would be easy to find out what they were thinking about me..whether good or bad. hehe. honesty is very important to me. although i wouldn't mind having a sweet person who was fake. i would know they were lying but i like nice ppl. they're just...nice. i guess.

Someone who is nice for sure....but they dont show the fakeness to me..and I don't notice it... Also, they never change their way of being nice...so they are nice and real to me....haha

On these situations I will tend to be nice but fake,but otherwise I would choose to be a jerk but real,even though I'm nice and real.

I would go with the mean and real person for sure...

It may sound weird, but I think that would be healthier for me & the person I am with or friends I am with.

I mean yeah I can be insensitive & blunt, but I only do that when I am pushed to do so....otherwise I tend to hold things in and not express myself...

So to be around a fake but nice person would bother me to much!

I would become bitter & unhappy....cuz I can't tell them they bother me or they won't like my honesty...I shut down.

Not knowing about their 'fakeness' is not good enough....sorry but dening that fact is stupid...be with someone who is nice, but you don't know about their fakeness...that will never happen -_-

Plus, the fact that I along with most people can 'tell' or 'just know' others are being fake wheather we admit it or not...natural intuition.

And, with this type of person...I wouldn't be able to express myself & get it out there...why make myself unhappy?

And, eventually I would probably explode & get honest with them after dealing with it for a long time.

BUT, with a mean and real person to confront me & tell me like it is... makes me happy :)

Only because I will confront them back & show my honesty & put it out there because they fired me up to do so.

Nothing to hide, no tip toeing, just the truth.

That is what I view as healthy because you get it out there & I know what's on their mind & they know what is on my mind.

Soon after it is said, you put out your views, you forgive, and you forget.

Nothing else and you grew stronger & trust each other more becuase of it.....I'm happy...they're happy.

Communication is a key factor for me...I need that because emotions & things of that nature aren't for me...I need to express myself by talking with others.

Real people provide that openness & I am more direct & to the point because of it...fake people don't provide that -_-

Oh, and it's not like they will always be mean because I will  make them be nice..lol.  (And I would too...no lie)
