Would you rather clean the kitchen or the bathroom?

Question

my mum has given me and my brother a choice of chorer to do ove the summer holidays. which is the lesser of the wo evils?

kitchen - mop floor, clean dishes/load dishwasher, wipe surfaces, clean bin, clean over/cooker, etc.

bathroom - bath, shower, loo, sink, mop floor

The kitchen may be harder work as it is going to be bigger and greasier but its saving grace is that it does not have a toilet!!  Buy yourself some gloves to use in case you get the toilet!  Why don't you do these jobs alternatively?  Then it would be fairer.  Good luck.

Bathroom definitely as once you have it spotless it only takes a few minutes to wipe over each day to keep it that way.  As for the Kitchen... dishes and benches and oven aaaarrrggghhhhhh! the grease can get on everything and kitchens are used all day long.

i prefer to do bathroom you'll be done in 5 mins quick wipe rinse with shower and your done!

kitchen - it may seem like there's more to do, but you won't find pubic hairs lurking in the kitchen sink...

also, the kitchen's just generally a better place to spend time

well, we have TV in our kitchen, so i would rather clean the kitchen than my bathroom, but then, i sort-of prefer to do it when I'm alone, other than when there's other people, for some reasons,   so yes, I would say the ktchen, but I would do the quickest, or,, as long as I get paid, I would do both !

The bathroom.

First, it's smaller. Smaller means less work. Even in the enumeration in your question, there are more chores in the kitchen.

Second, the dirt in the bathroom are easier to clean. If you are queasy about hair and other stuff, just wear gloves.

Third, the only thing you need to remember in cleaning bathrooms is to keep it dry. If it's dry, it won't get as dirty. In the kitchen, you have no control what they will cook and what dirt they will create in any given day.

You mention wipe surfaces in the kitchen........how many kitchen surfaces are 'covered' by microwaves and other appliances!!!!

The bathroom really is a piece of cake.
