Would you rather go to a big school or small school?

I go to a small school. I like it. Teachers have one on one time with us etc. Everyone knows everyone (can be good or bad) but... We have 80 students per grade. So its the same people all the time. Its bad because If you are new... and no one like you, then thats the way it is. No new groups to go to. We have cliques. Everyone has a set group and its like, you stay here, you go there, and you there. Everyone separated into the groups and labeled. Which can suck, and rumors? Oh c**p. If you do something bad or anything, everyone knows within 2 hours. If you go to a large school, you just move on to a new group. I don't know much about this. The largest school I've been to had 180. I' noticed that rumors still can spread like that too. Anyway.. Which do you prefer?

  1. I go to a slightly bigger school than you, about 100-120 per year.  600 pupils in all.  The teachers have very little time with us as it is so I wouldn't want to go to a bigger school.  I went to a fairly large primary school on the other hand.  In comparison to other primary schools in the catchment area.  My best friend came from a rural school where she was one of only two people in her year and she found it difficult to fit in when she came to secondary school.  As for cliques, there aren't really any in my school, in the older years anyway.  Everybody has their close friends but overall everyone at least likes everyone else.

  2. you already asked a question like this, but your cute :] so its okayy

  3. i'd much prefer a bigger school, my stupid school is so small we barely have a schoolyard and i have to spend day after day with such annoying people [limied amount of students means limited choices on friends and all the people at my school are so annoying]

  4. I go to a pretty big school, about 3000, and it's a high school. I'll be graduating with about 800 kids. I love it, personally. There are so many people you get to know. And if there's someone you don't like, chances are that you won't have to be with them again next year or even next semester if you're switching classes. The teachers, around here at least, are fantastic teaching, and if we have a problem, they can easily come over and help. And if that isn't enough time, most stay late and you can get something like that done as well. Not to mention that because there are so many other students, study groups are easy to form and high grades are easy to get since chances are someone in the group will get what you're having troubles with.

The rumors spread just as fast, or at least within classes. Like, I doubt the seniors would care if some freshman messed up, but by the end of the day, all the freshman would know, no problem. Just because there's more people doesn't mean that the rumors won't spread. You'll probably be embarrassed for like a week, but you learn, that since there are so many kids, some other rumor will probably spread soon enough and they'll forget about you as long as you don't bring it up. And cliques, they're kind of there, but I've found that since there are so many kids, it's like you have certain friends in certain classes, but cliques really aren't as prominent. I dunno, maybe it's my school.

Anyhow, yeah, I love my school, it's kind of big, but I know a school that's in a close by district has 4000, I think and has a separate building on campus JUST for freshman.

  5. Big school rumors don't spread outside of your clique, and there's always a new group to move onto if need be. And because there are so many people, the next day someone else will have rumors spread about them and everyone will forget about you.

Big school's more convenient, in my opinion.

  6. small

what i would do to go to a small school!!!!

    my grade has 800 ppl

  7. im going to a semi-big school.

i would prefer going to a smaller one tho.

    =/

  8. I went to a huge high school (720 students in my graduating class, when I was a senior the freshman class was even bigger than that!) and I went to a tiny liberal arts college (about 400 students total.)

I preferred the anonymity in high school.  In college everyone knew everyone else's business.  High drama there.  High drama in every high school and college, but there was no avoiding people in college.  High school made it easier to phase people out of your life if needs be.

School activities are another thing to consider.  At my high school, there was something for pretty much everyone.  The flip side of that being teens in a small high school can be involved in things that they wouldn't be able to do in a large one.  Whereas in large schools the best of the best are chosen to be on sports teams or star in plays, in a small school short guys can play basketball, not-so-pretty girls can be cheerleaders, and so forth.

  9. big schools (:

  10. big or small the problems are the same

  11. hmm defo bigger school

  12. i go to a huge school... 3 buildings and there were 1,200 freshmen last year. i don't think i would want it any other way. at my school, there's a friend for everyone to be friends with. =)

  13. small school keeps it simple

  14. I go to a small school that has less than 80 kids per grade. My class has 50 kids. I love it.

  15. big school. our school has only 700 kids grade 6-12 so that's like 100 kids per grade. i know everyone in the school and i don't like it. i'd rather have a big campus with like 2,000+ kids. we only have on average 18 students per class and they said it would be better for more one on one time but it's not, they lied!exactly, i has a rumor get around about me within like a day! and i was like WTF! we have cliques but i talk to everyone but most of my friends don't

  16. i go to a really small school and i hate it.

its like the exact same thing, once anybody does something...within 1 hr the 6-8th grade knows!

there are 700-800 students, and its a k-8th school, so its like 80-90 per grade!

  17. small schools definitely!!

  18. Schools are always the same although in small school u have younger kids so its innocent and they wouldnt know

  19. i go yo i school with 750 people.... but i like it =] i know who most of the people are but i have the people i hang out with like    my friends and just other people i smile at when walking by =] i like the bigger school but idk it depends on what kind of person you are.... idk as long as i have my friends im good

btw the if thats you in the little pic then ur super cute ;-)
