But if you have a sleepover you can duct tape the first person who falls asleep to the floor and scream the house is on fire. Lots of fun:)

Why not both - have a pool party late in the afternoon - then have everyone sleepover!

i would say a sleepover because you can do each others nails and talk about boys so try the sleepover.

How about both?  A party during the day w/girlfriends, with cake, sandwiches and ice cream then order pizza at night while everyone gathers to either watch scary movies or hangs out in the birthday girls room like typical teenagers do.

sleepover.a pool party seems too mature for a 13th birthday. pool parties are more for 20-somethings. trust me, throwing a pool party at 13 will make people think you're trying too hard. don't give them this impression.
