  1. Manning.  QB's like Vick tend to get injured more often.

  2. peyton manning guy because mobile quarter backs tend to spend more time injured than playing no matter how good their line is

  3. Give me a pocket passer any day. They win the big games. The running Quarterbacks can't win, the best of the lot was Fran Tarkington and he couldn't win a Super Bowl to save his life! A lot of it has to do with the emotional make up of these Guys, a QB like Manning is going to look for a receiver or a back to dump it off to. A running Quarterback will pull it down to fast and take off, usually stopped for a short gain. They aren't patient enough. The threat of a running QB is not big enough to warrant playing the position that way. Defenses usually have a plan to deal with them. I would like to point out a flaw in your question, you said Vick could throw, and year after year he proved that he can't. At least not at a level of ability to justify him playing Quarterback on a Professional Team. He was much better suited to the role of Running Back.

  4. Favre's arm and passion, Vick's running ability, Flutie's luck, and Marino's size.

  5. it would be nice to have a guy that could do both.

  6. mcnabb a combo of them 2. I like someone that can be pretty good outside the pocket if he has to but is also good in. I would rather have someone like Peyton though, ive always liked the pocket qb's more even though someone like vick is fun to watch back there.

  7. Manning makes his line, even though it is usually good, better than it really is. His knowledge of the defense and very quick release is why he is so seldom sacked. A running qb is not a qb at all. Any qb can run, but some faster than others. It's a shame receivers spend all that time learning routes and timing just to see a quick qb run all over the field. Quarterbacks like Vick are a dime a dozen but a true qb like Manning comes around once or twice a decade. Take Vince Young for example. His qb rating has been pretty much the worst every season he has played, but people still want him to make plays with his legs. Once you get into that rythm, your done for life. It's a habit that gets you either hurt or throwing pics off your back foot.

  8. Pretty Simple, Manning. Pocket QB's like Manning and Brady are both top QBs. Vick was exciting, but as a passer, he left alot to be desired. Don't forget those superbowl wins.

  9. Well I mean it all depends on the team, If i had a decent offensive line I could not turn down Peyton Manning but if i had a terrible offensive line I would take Vick.

  10. It's very good question but I'd have to clearly say Peyton Manning. Yeah, Michael Vick is one of the fastest QB's in the NFL, 1st pick in the 2001 draft, rushed 21 TD's as a QB, 7x Pro Bowler, rushed 1,000 yards, and had 8.4 yards per carry, but Michael Vick (aka Ron Mexico) is also one of the most conterversol QB's in the game, or out the game. Also, Michael Vick didn't really have any GREAT recivers to throw to besides his tight end Alge Crumpler.

Peyton Manning still continues to be among the greatest QB's in the NFL, having records like Most seasons with at least 4,000 passing yards (1999–2004, 2006–2007): 8

Most consecutive seasons with at least 4,000 passing yards (1999–2004): 6

Most consecutive seasons with at least 25 touchdown passes (1998–2007; current): 10

Most games with a perfect passer rating (career): 4 (includes 1 playoff game)

Most consecutive games started to open a career by a quarterback (current): 160

Highest passer rating (season, 2004): 121.1[155]

Most consecutive games with at least 2 touchdown passes: 13 (games 1–13, 2004)

Most consecutive games with at least 4 touchdown passes: 5 (games 7–11, 2004)

Most games with at least 4 touchdown passes (season, 2004): 6 (tied with 1984 Marino)

Most games with at least 5 touchdown passes, career: 7 (includes 1 playoff game)

Highest TDs/game average for any QB with at least 150 TDs: 1.9125 TDs/game

Most consecutive games with a passer rating over 100: 9 (games 5-13 of 2004 season)

Most seasons with 12+ wins as a starter (regular season only): 6

Only QB with at least 12 wins as a starter in 5 consecutive seasons (2003-2007)

First QB to defeat the other 31 teams in the regular season

Another reason why peyton Manning is still a better player than Vick is because Peyton Manning is still going after 10 years and he is still doing great.

  11. well since the athletic guy has a chance to b as good of a passer as the pocket guy, you have to pick him.  watchout for Josh Johnson of the Bucs.  hes the real deal, passing and running.  i also think terrel pryor in college cud b could in the future.  i take the athletic qb because of the potential.  now if the q was petyon or vick in there primes??? Peyton everytime lol

  12. well, i first have to say that when it comes to mannings...im all Eli =)

2nd id totally pick the manning because i think that they are better people to work with....he'll do what he needs to to get the job done...i always thought mv was more into himself than any team he ever played for.............

not to mention hes a criminal =( its a shame really.

  13. Depends on the team I have, if I have a weaker rb than I want a Vick like guy ( without the off the field issues) so I can have a dual threat, but if I have a strong running back than I will want a more stable QB who I can consistently rely on.

  14. Always go with the "Traditional" QB. They stay in the pocket and look for someone to pass to before looking to run/scramble/

If you go with a VICK type of QB, they have a "RUN FIRST" type of mantality then look to pass if their running lanes are closed. Sure the VICKS can put up a lot of yards running around all day, but so can a good RUNNING BACK.

Give me a guy who can control the game, has patience to stay in the pocket, and someone who knows how to read recivers.

  15. Well if you want a guy who gets hurt when he runs go ahead. Also Vick has to be harrased by the media before he will stay in the pocket and pass. Look at the season records of both the Colts and the Falcons. Both these QBs are the faces of these franchises. Who has more wins and who doesnt? I think I have made my point.

  16. payton manning

  17. well if hes not as good as Rm..da vick guy...we've seen how effective mobile QB's have been in recent years and if hes good enough it brings a new dimension to da game

  18. Vick type

he would get the fans more excited then a pocket passer

  19. Peyton Manning, he's the classic QB. he is going in the hall of fame for his arm, not his ability to avoid a tackle the crumbling line couldn't stop, because he took to long to find a reciever. Or worse he just wanted to get all the glory
