next year, during the winter time i am going to study abroad for a language. i'm not so sure where though.

im having difficulty deciding between norway and switzerland.

don't say norway is boring! i want to go there! i taught myself the language and i'd like to perfect it by living with a teacher in the oslo region

or going with friends to switzerland (les sciernes) a small village in the swiss pre-alps and i will go to a yearround camp so we can be there in the winter. the camp teaches french and german but i will study german there .

i cant decide . help! :D

  1. I would choose Swtiz. for the reason the previous answer said, that it's closer to other countries like France, Germany, and Italy! Of course with budget airlines now in Europe you can fly from Norway to Europe cheaper than going from Zurich to Geneve by train, so you won't be so very isolated.  I also learned Norwegian on my own, and love the Scandinavian languages.  Norwegian gives you access to Swedish and Danish (not 100 percent, but you'll be able to read a lot right away, as soon as u learn the Norsk, du kan laere Svensk og Dansk.) That's so cool!  If you're more into nature and wilderness and really want to be immersed in Scandinavia, go to Oslo.  But I'd go to Switzerland because I've been to both countries and I was more impressed with the Swiss cities than Oslo.  I go for city life, and I liked Zurich, Basel, Lausanne, Bern, and Geneve.  Oslo was not so special for me.

  2. It is very hard to choose but I would choose Switzarland just because your closer to the rest of Europe.  Norway is sort of seclused, it only touches one country (sweden) whereas Switzarland touches Italy, France, Germany, and Austria, so I think you'd enjoy Switzarland more and get more of a cultural experiance.  However, they are both great and beautiful so whatever you choose will be great.

    Good Luck

  3. If your goal is defenitely for language, I vote for Switzerland where you can brush up both french and german language...plus great landscape during winter time..

I've got a friend who is living in Oslo with her hubbie..she said everything there is fine (since she's been living with her love one); nice people, good living standard, great social life...but deeply deep in her heart, she feels lonely..

I don't know, since I've never been in Oslo but Switzerland..so I vote for Switzerland by now :)

Have a nice trip (wherever you would decide)

  4. Switzerland has the best looking girls if you care about that :)
