I can't comment on the caribean islands because I've never been ther, but I lived in Cyprus for a couple of years when I was in the RAF, and have holidayed in most of the Greek Islands.

I'm sure the caribean islands are beautiful and I've seen all the photographs, but appart from the sun, the golden beaches and the people, I also enjoy to see ancient cultures when on holiday.

I have been to Zakynthos one of the Ionian Islands, and I must be honest, I will not be returning.  The place smelt dreadfully, I think they have a problem with sewerage, it was overrun with cheap charter flight holidaymakers from England with no sense of decorum whatsoever who let their children run wild and let their teenage children drink copious amounts of alcohol.  Dreadful place.  Oh, and the hoteliers charge extra for air conditioning, when vacationing in a climate of circa 40 degrees Celsius one would assume air conditioning would be inclusive and they also charged extra for the use of a fridge !

The Caribbean, maybe next year.

I love the Greek Islands - I've been going to them for more than 20 years (not the club 18-30 areas - more quiet scenic holidays).  I've never been to the Caribbean, so I can't really say.

Good points for Greek Islands - nice beaches, lovely food (if you avoid the tourist traps), reasonably cheap price of holiday and nice people.   Shorter flights too.

Definitely the Caribbean but this year we've just booked for Greece as we must economise.  Sure to be nice anyway.

Greek.  I have friends who went to the Caribbean, and then another couple who went to Greece.  Comparing their stories and photos -- it's Greece that is the most exotic and beautiful.  Much less commercial.  It would be my choice in a heartbeat!
