Y'know, instead of Fox or ESPN or TBS?

Cause I'd rather watch the Red Sox on NESN. That's why I pay for it! lol.

So, do you have a preference?

  1. I'd rather watch the Cardinals on FSN Midwest, but I don't want to pay the money for satellite. As an alternative, I use MLB.TV, which is okay.

  2. I rather watch the Yankees on Yes Network myself. While i was on  vacation a few weeks ago i got to see the NESN Channel. I'll admit it wasn't bad.

  3. I prefer FSN Wisconsin, the Brewers were only on ESPN once this year and the results were dismal (Red Sox took us all four games). So, even though the Red Sox are tough I choose to believe ESPN was bad luck instead.

The announcers know the team and always have the energy for them, they always have hope even if the score is 0-6 in the 9th. Although at times they can get annoying. If it's not on, I listen to Bob Uecker on the radio.

  4. Don & Jerry go together like beer and baseball !! They are great!

I enjoy ESPN sometimes for games, but local stations seem to have better perspectives and more baseball knowledge as far as the Sox are concerned. Plus, they actually care about the Sox!  Red Sox Nation Unite!

  5. its nice to have it on fox or nbc just because its always in High Definition.  FSN midwest has most of the cardinals games, but not all of them are in High Definition, but it kind of evens out because i get to listen to the best announcers in baseball.

And im guessing, that Yahoo answers thinks tbs, fox, and espn are diseases.

  6. I'd rather watch your Red Sox on your local network at well lol.  At least they have followed the Red Sox their whole lives through thick and thin I'd imagine.  Hearing the fairweather, market follower fans Buck and Mccarver rant on and on about the Red Sox makes me ill.

To answer the question, I personally like to listen to Tom Hamilton and Mike Heagan on the local Cleveland Indians radio network.  The announcers on TV are a bit to dry and have too much dead air for my taste.

  7. id rather watch on a local channel cause the knuckleheads on the national broadcast are constantly saying stuff thats not right, but the national feed gives the team more money

  8. My team is the LA Dodgers and they are not on local TV because I live in Canada,

I may get a chance to watch them, maybe 6 times a year on the US Networks or Sportsnet in Canada; unless of course they go into the playoffs (Haha!)

    You are cute!

  9. local

joe buck only gets excited if the cardinals are playing

he also spent 30 seconds worshiping albert pujols during his ab in the all star game

  10. I would rather watch the Yankees on the Yes Network but i hacve MLB extra innings which sometimes forces me to watch the other teams broadcast but it dont bother me as long as i can see the yanks play

    Yanks fans:http://yanksgameday.blogspot.com/

  11. Every Dodger fan is aware of the difference when they see the Dodger games on another channel and that difference is not hearing Vin Scully's  broadcasting the game. If the Dodger games come a different channel, say TBS or the Giants network, I put the television on mute and turn on the radio so it can be like Vin Scully is broadcasting the game. :D

  12. Yes I Watch the Cardinals on FSN Midwest, The Twins on FSN North, and The Brewers on FSN Wisconsin, Being around several Metropolitan Areas is My Preference.

  13. I like Nesn much better than watching the Red Sox game on Espn, TBS, and Fox. With Espn and all those others they talk about other teams sometimes when the game is playing and they don't show any excitement in their voices unlike Don Orsillo. He's like screaming and yelling when they win. That shows he actually cares about the team.

  14. Definitely.  The announcers on my local station are way better than the dopes on Fox and Boo-ya network.

  15. I would much rather watch the Red Sox on NESN.  I love Don and Jerry and they are so funny!  Most of the National networks hate the Sox and always say negative things about them.  It drives me crazy.

  16. local channel. the regular guys know the team better than the ESPN/Fox guys. the giants' broadcasting team is a really good one and i enjoy listening to their calls.

  17. I'd rather listen to Vin Scully on the radio than watch a Dodger game on most "national" broadcasts.

I used to like Buck/McCarver quite a bit until I heard them do a couple Dodger games on Fox...Some of the stuff they said seemed to indicate a total lack of homework.  I know a lot of people get annoyed by Jon Miller and Joe Morgan on ESPN, but at least they seem to know the back-stories regarding the teams playing.

  18. For real! I hate watching games on FOX the most! Everyone from FOX is so stupid! The only teams they ever talk about are the yanks and BoSox, even when more important things are happening. Don't get me wrong, Boston is my #2 team but when I'm watching my Cubbies, I don't want to hear **** about the yanks! Who ******* cares!? And whenever we score or even hit a big homerun, there is no emotion at all! But when I'm watching Len and Bob on WGN, they go crazy because they are real.

  19. I would rather watch the Sox on NESN, but there is something to be said for national broadcasts.  I like getting an unbiased view of my team....in moderation.

I also like to watch the Sox on Yes when they play the Bombers(an apt nickname this season, don't you think?).  Especially when they are kicking the snot out of them.  I love listening to Michael Kay cry!

  20. I like watching the Rangers on FSN Southwest or My27 better than on ESPN or Fox.  Not that they get shown on ESPN or Fox very often... =)

  21. I'd like to watch the Tigers on FSN Detroit. We don't get that channel in Utah so I get to see them on ESPN and FOX and this year I saw them on FSN Rocky Mountain when they played the Rockies--The announcers were wishing terrible thing to happen to the Tigers. Only once in Seattle did I get to see the Tigers on their own network. I don't know how it happened. The Mariners were supposed to be on that channel and while channel surfing we found the Tiger game. Incidentally. It took until June 28th for me to see the Tigers win a game on TV.

  22. I just don't like ESPN, as long as the game is not on ESPN I am fine (I listen to the radio while watching the game anyways).

ESPN to me is a p**s poor national sports channel and it is funny that their target audience would rather watch NESN and the YES Network.

    ESPN sucks.

  23. I'd rather watch them on the local channel. The broadcasters know the team more than a national one. They are on the road with them and interact with them throughout the whole season. The pregame and post-game coverage is always the best with local broadcasts.

  24. YES!!  I'm a Rockies fan so their games aren't broadcast as much on national tv, but last year during the playoffs I was really annoyed with the announcers on those stations.  They didn't know anything about the Rockies and I would prefer to have watched on my local channel. Our announcers work all year to announce the playoffs and aren't allowed to? I didn't like it.

I'd take local anyday over national.

  25. Yeah. I would rather watch my local channel. I pay for it, plus I like it better just on the local channels. =]

    Good Question. Here's a star.

  26. I would much rather watch my team's local broadcast than FOX or ESPN. Joe Buck can make a walk off grand slam sound like a routine play.

  27. I have the Extra Innings package from DirecTV which means that some games I might get on WGN some on Comcast Sportsnet or the other local channels.

When the O's-Cubs series came up I had to watch on MASN which I must say SUCKS. I hate the color scheme on the screen.

When the Braves series came up I had to watch on Peachtree TV which also SUCKS.

Now I have to watch the Nats-Cubs game on MASN2.

I should had just bought WGN in the beginning of the season.

  28. Yep. I prefer watching Yankees games on YES. Seems whenever the games are on ESPN or Fox, they spend half their time talking about the Yankees' payroll, A-Rod's supposed "lack of clutch" or when the Steinbrenner family is going to say something. It's like clockwork.

And I've only watched one Yanks-Sox game on NESN. Wasn't bad, but give me Kay, Singleton and Cone over Don and the Rem-Dawg.

  29. Yes, because the home announcers are generally more knowledgeable about the players and do a better analysis of the game. The national guys get a list of player's names (which half the time they can't pronounce correctly) and have a guy who does the stats for them. It's painfully obvious most of the time that they really don't know that much about the teams, or the sport for that matter.

  30. I like to watch the Reds on FSN. It's fun to see them every now and then on National TV, that's where I have to get the Braves now since TBS cut them off.  I like the Reds' broadcasters .. of course except for Jeff Brantley.. plus you get to see people you might know cheering!

  31. Of course, I'd rather watch my Angels on FSN WEST. The only good thing about being on ESPN or Fox, is that the team gets more notoriety and if they win, it's even better. But I love Rex Hudler and Steve Phys! My13 is pretty good too.
