Question:

Would you read this magazine...?

I'm doing this for a school project type thing. A magazine made up of blogs/articles/photos written and taken by regular people. Anyone could submit to it via a website and everything would be considered. There would probably be different sections like food, travel, going out, music etc broken up by longer articles. No 'proper' journalists or photographers would be a part of creating the magazine.

If you saw this magazine in a shop would you be tempted to buy it at all? Is it the kind of thing you would enjoy reading? WOULD you pay money for it or would you only bother if it was free?

For this project I need to know if it would actually appeal to anyone and what type of person it appeals to (so if you could tell me your age as well that'd be great). I've asked quite a few people already but I need to get far more opinions for graphs etc and asking on here I can hopefully get a lot more.

Also please be as honest as possible. I don't mind you being harsh!

Thanks for your help :)

n yh i would pay money about 1pound

  3. yeah but it's so general! it would depend on the cover and then the look that's inside. Typically most magazines have a celebrity or a them that'll get someone's attention. I'm trying to make my own magazine now so it's gotta be catchy. Yours seems cool but it depends on how it looks and how it's promoted

    good luck

  4. I like the idea, but its a little bit general.

You'd need a few set sections that were followed every issue, and youd need to have it planned for a certain age group, otherwise itd crash and burn.

id take any magazine that was free

but Id probably buy it as well, depending on the cover.

if the things on the cover (saying whats inside the issue) were interesting, id buy it, but if not, id skip it.

thats a really good idea though, to have it not be professional

    itd be really relateable.

and I personally think its a good idea for the teen crowd, because most would probably like the idea of teens like them writing what theyre reading, and being able to send in things, adults probably wouldnt admire it as much.

    but ya never know

it all depends on the magazine itself, and how it turns out.

:) good luck on the project

  5. Ahh, maybe. I think there would be too many entries on the website to find find anything specific, Plus, you would probably have to monitor what everyone is putting in to make sure nothing is inappropriate. It sounds pretty neat, but also like a lot of work.

  6. If necessary xx

  7. I'm 30 so it would depend on the demographic your trying to reach.  If it was all 20-something's contributing than I probably wouldn't read it.  It was varied in age and experience then I probably would.  I like reading about what "average" people think of things such as restaurants, fashion, etc...not just what the experts say about it.

Also, average people often have knowledge of underground type things, struggling artists, etc...that experts might just pass over.

I would read it and if does sound interesting, but only if there was a wide range of topics and the contributors' ages varied.
