My girlfriend and I are thinking about taking the Day tour to Isla Tortuga from Montezuma, Costa Rica. I found this tour company, Cabinas Playa Las Manchas. Has anyone been to Isla Tortuga, specificly from Montezuma??? Would you recommend it? Any other info would be appreciated. Price, boat company, etc etc.

Thanks!

  1. I had a friend who went and thought it was nice. Wait, I'm thinking of where the turtles come out at midnight.  I think I know which tour you're talking about and I didn't go on it because I heard you stay there for only 30min and come back.  That the whole 'fun'  part of it is actually the ride there and back.

  2. Yes i recommend you, but if you are planning to go to beautiful beaches, you can also take a look to Isla Bocas in Panama.

I recommend you Isla Bocas, because that place have many Islands and all of them are very close.  Also the food is unique, The fish, the shrimp....delicious.  That place also is very cheap.

  3. I took the tour last week from Punta Arenas. It was on a large catamaran and featured a several course lunch at the beach. The only wildlife I saw were several buzzard-type birds but the trip over and back was enjoyable. I would not make the trip on a small boat as the channel can get rough in the afternoon.

  4. I've been to Tortuga from Puntarenas and it is a very enjoyable trip.  It has a small white sand beach and some snorkeling in a very beautiful setting.    I think I would ask the following questions--type of boat, what is included (meals, drinks, snorkeling), how long is it (do you have time to hang out on the beach) and of course price.  Quite frankly if you are going to be in Montezuma for several days, I would not book anything until you are there and have asked around.
