My sisters have been to Buenos Aires and absolutely loved it. I would definitely recommend it.

I have been to other parts of Argentine and I would recommend Bariloche. In the Chilean side the whole country is great! (I am Chilean), specially the south: Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas, Punta Arenas, etc. Santiago and Valparaiso are great, as well as the desert.

In Brazil everyone goes to Sao Paulo of Rio de Janeiro, which are great. But my brother went to Iguazu Water Falls and told me that they are impressive. They are in the Argentine-Paraguay-Brazil border. He also went to Brasilia, amazing if you are and architect ...
