Would you recommend an Isuzu Trooper?

hello, i'm expecting my first child and my boyfriend and i are looking to but a decent used car. we also have a 70 lb pitbull so the space and comfort of an suv seems best. i really like how isuzu troopers look and years 98-02 are within our budget.

what do you think, like them, not like them? ever owned one or known someone that has? any mechanics out there....what do you think of them, ever work on some?

it would be helpful too if a specific year comes to mind.

they are not that reliable.

they are tall and top heavy making it easy to roll over.

you can put the vehicle onto 3 wheels very easily and at low speed.

look at Nissa Xterra or Toyota 4Runner

I would not recommend this car. The prime reason for that is safety.

The IIHS has done a test on the Isuzu, saying that in a 40 MPH Collision, everything other than your chest is going to be pretty screwed up.

An option that may be a little near the top of your budget would be the Hyundai Santa Fe. The Santa Fe has a wonderful warranty, good fit and finish, reliable, and seems very safe.

Though most cars may seem to look cool and seem t be like bargains, safety most likely is not there. Most people assume that most cars are safe, but that is not always the truth.

I have seen far too many people die from careless mistakes or other drivers faults, and also cars that are not adaqualty protected for a collision.

ehh isuzu trooper's are nor that great. but if you want some thing that is going to last, gets good gas milage, is pretty cheap, and has alot of room, then get a honda element, nissan Xterra, or a toyota 4runner these are great and I mean great suv's. a good place to get a deal on one of these in your local area is craigslist.com
