  1. For some reason Gaynor Mindens are controversial! I've personally used Bloch and GMs, and I loved, loved, loved my GMs. They did not feel like chunky and hard like my Blochs. It almost felt like they were made for me. It made dancing on pointe so much more pleasant ... I was actually enjoying the process! Whatever makes me happy is worth the money. Plus they are supposed to last 10 times longer than regular pointe shoes, so I think in the end, it probably works out to be the same, or maybe even cheaper, depending on how long yours last. Of course, as with everything else, taking good care of your shoes (storage especially) makes a difference.

  2. Yes, it's comfortable for me and suits me.

  3. yes, absolutely. They are the best pointe shoes I have ever worn. Very comfortable. Fairly easy to dance in. Some people call them cheater shoes but I don't really think it matters. People who don't know anything about ballet won't ever realize that. And they last a lot longer than other pointe shoes.

  4. well I love them so yes !!!

  5. NO WAY cuz it has a plastic box so it doesnt mold to ur foot like alot of other shoes so the pain wil not stop please do not hurt your feet

  6. OMG NO!! they feel comfortable at first becuase there nice and soft and they have built in pads and such. but after wearing them for one rehersal i was dying! becuase the shanks are plastic and u have to blow dry they it doesn't allow your to break in the shoe. and their liek a zillion bucks. stick to the originals. Russian pointe. mirella. bloch. capezio. they have traditional shanks that allow your foot and anlke to strengthen better.

  7. yes! My studio primarily orders gaynor mindens because of their great quality and they are really a beautiful shoe. You must go with the right shoe for your feet though.

  8. it really depends on how comfortable your foot feels in them.

    but i prefered minden.

  9. depends on the dancer's feet. you'd have to try them and see for yourself. i liked them ok, but they're not "my shoe".

keep in mind, they're also very expensive.

however, if you're a beginer do NOT get them. beginers need to learn how to properly roll through demi pointe and it's too easy in gaynors, so they don't learn how to correctly strengthen their feet.

but if you're not a beginer, go to the store and try them and see what you think. the only one who  can really decide is you.
