Would you recommend that I bring a friend to a partner dance class such as ballroom, or that I go alone?

Because I know that some classes, it would be better to go alone because talking is frowned upon in class(such as ballet and modern) because it destroys concentration. However if I had a friend, I would be more comfortable falling over myself with someone who also is new to the style.

Best advice: only go with a friend if they are VERY interested and coordinated, othewise they'll distract you and bring you down.

If you go to class with the mind set of learning and having fun, alone or with a friend will work for ballroom.

I think with dances like ballroom either works.. People go alone or in couples and dont really mess about cos they actually want to learn it. If you have a friend who is willing take them along or if youre feeling brave go it alone, have some fun, learn a skill, gain some confidence and you might make some new friends along the way :)
