Would you recommend the book the joy luck club to your friends?

Yes, I would. I've read several of Amy Tan's novel's and her writing is very compelling. I also like the insight into Chinese culture, and well as the examination of how mother & daughters relate to one another.  Although some might categorize it as "chick-lit" or maybe even think of it as "heavy" reading, the stories are entertaining. And since there are eight different stories, I think it goes very quickly.

I had to read it for summer reading and I enjoyed it. I suppose I'd recommend it. It's a very well written book revolving around family.

I think I'd recommend it to a family member more though.
