  1. @Ally G above: What do you mean we are not Balkan at all ?? Greece is LOCATED in the Balkans! Please go check a map. How can  you possibly say we have more similarities to Arab countries and say we are not balkan at all when we have been living in the Balkans for thousands of years, and while North Africa and all Arab countries are much further away from us. We have been equally influenced by other Balkan countries as much from our Turkish neighbors and our Italian neighbors, and of course our Byzantine culture before that.

@at the asker: No Greeks are not Slav or neither do they speak a slavic language.

We are of Hellenic descent. DNA tests that were published in the US magazine of Human Genetics have proven that more than 96% of the 3,000 Greek males tested were showed to be of Hellenic descent, with very little admixture of Slavs, Turks,  Italians and Persians.

Greek DNA was showed to be the most similar to 1.Italians. 2. French. 3. Spaniards. 4 Turks.

Edit: I agree with the Bla Bla below me, nobody said its a diss to be slav, assuming this in the first place is a diss to Slavs themselves.

  2. We are pure blooded Greeks!

  3. Greeks are certainly not Slavic just as Turks aren't black as you very much like to point out, in your own humble trollic way, under questions in the Turkish section. However in the past, panslavists like Pogodin, who wanted to unite all Slavs under the hegemony of Russia, *condescended*, as he would put it, to accept Greeks in his Russian led Slavic Union too.

  4. Of course not... Den exw kamia sxesi me tous malakes tous skopianous oute my friends and family... so u know -> pure blooded Greeks.   ( xe xe :b)

  5. I know your problem with the Russians, it's because they know history and they agree with the rest of the world that...

    ANCIENT MACEDONIA WAS GREEK

  6. i think she just another bulgarian glastra....... she alwasy saying ..yia sou..... hmmmmmmmmm.... we dont say that alwasy mori... that  gives you away either bulgarian i would say or albabian.... simple you not behaving like a greek.. and yes that picture is scary...

  7. As l said before you are not Greek. If you were Greek you would know such things. Of course you spread all around bull*** . Your provocative behaviour, racist opinions have been clear to us. I consider you a troll! Persons like yourself are not welcome anywhere!

  8. and you say you are greek?????

    You looks like a fish

    ne zoltan mori ine

  9. they are totally mediterranean.

not slavic or balkan at all.

they have their own unique language and culture that is quite unlike all the surrounding countries. their religion is christian but it is eastern orthodox which is slightly different from western. additionally, a lot of their sensibilities can be likened to arabic or northern african cultures, particularly with food and dress, especially since it's right next to Turkey which is an Islamic nation.

  10. Greece and Greeks are meditteraneans

Greeks existed thousands of years before the slavs came to Balkans

Its not an offend to be a Slav(but some of our neighbours are denying their slavic heritage) but Greeks are not Slavs

  11. Today yes! Half Slavic and half Ethiopians!

We should give Fyrom their part - Aegean Macedonia back and that way we will pure blooded Greeks again!

  12. who knows, but you look SCARY!

  13. I think that if you were Greek, you wouldn't need to ask...

No, Greece is not a slavic country.

Yes, Greece is in the Balkans.

Yes, there are slavic countries in the Balkans.

    And finally,

NO, BEING A CALLED A SLAV IS NOT AN INSULT. ONLY RACISTS THINK LIKE YOU DO.

  14. You are clearly aware that your 'questions' have & will cause offence (hence your comment)

Archer says it all, a true Greek would not ask questions about the country of their heritage

Normally I don't pass comment, but your final comment tipped the limit.... being "Slavic/Slav" was not, is not and will not be considered an insult.  Do you have any idea how many millions of people you offend by deducting this conclusion (which actually says more about your intelligence than anything else)

So off you toddle back to school and leave us in peace, I recommend you re-take, history, geography, & english as a minimum.

  15. Mediteranean:)

  16. First of all, I don't think YOU are Greek. And now let's deal with your question.

I wouldn't say it's Slavic. Of course there is nothing offensive about being Slavic, but they just aren't. There has to be differences between people, we can't all be the same, right?

Now, I have noticed that some Greeks tend to think of themselves as they are better than others in their neighbourhood, which of course I disagree. Sometimes it's like in the ancient times, when Greeks called all their neighbours barbarians... LOL :) No offence, but sometimes there is still some attitude like that.

So, the answer would be: Mediterranean - yes, Slavic - no, but it DEFINITELY is a Balkan country. (Nothing wrong with that.)

P.S. Butiki and Bakoyanni should be reported.

P.P.S. Yeah yeah, now I will get all the thumbs down because I had some criticism towards Greeks... LOL :) But that was my impression and you have to admit there is a little bit of that attitude.

  17. OF COURSE they are not slavic at all!

They don't have your beautiful blond hair and blue eyes, REMEMBER?

  19. Why would I say?
