  1. Serbia has definitely stepped up to the plate and shown that there players have definite potential to win big in tennis. But the best tennis nations are Russia and Spain, russia especially. It's a fact, the russians are all over tennis and they are so strong and present, and they cannot be ignored. Then Spain has been absolutely phenomenal in tennis and on the men's side with Rafa, Ferrer, Ferrerro especially these amazing spaniards are shaking things up. It's not like the old days when it was Americans,Australians, and Swedes all over the place. Serbs haven't taken over tennis but they definitely have become a country with very consistent players.

  2. the Russians and Spaniards are strong.

  3. Heh. No.

  4. No, but France is taking over! We have Giles Simon, and so many other who will win much. My favorite, but he playing not so well is Monfils. Gasquet can play better games but he is not do so well. Many French play well.

  5. no.

  6. Serbia is certainly a tennis powerhouse these days, but I don't think you can say they are "taking over" tennis.  They have a lot of great players in every event (men's, women's, doubles), but the Serbian Tennis Federation is not very good from what I've read.  Notice that most of the players you mentioned had to go out of Serbia to train as juniors.  Only Tipsarevic stayed home to train, and the conditions he had to play in were horrible.

  7. no!

  8. On the women side, Russia has many more top female players. On the men side, Spain has more top players.

  9. You are joking right? Serbiaa you didn't think much before asking this question did you? Be honest.

You mean Spain or Switzerland are taking over with 2 men each in the Top 10 versus only 1 for Serbia?

or do you mean France & Spain are taking over with 13 men each in the Top 100 compared to only 3 Serbs?

Oh perhaps its the Top 200 men...23 Frenchmen and 22 Spaniards versus 5 Serbs ... no not there either

Oh perhaps you meant in the WTA for the women.

2 Serb women in the top 10 compared to

4 Russian women in the top 10...no you couldn't have meant that

oh you must have meant the Top 100

14 Russians versus the same 2 Serbs ... no not there either

perhaps you meant the Top 200

26 Russians versus only the same 2 Serbs still.  Wow not there either. France has 11 in the Top 100 and 17 in the Top 200.

Oh maybe you meant that after Spain, France, Russia, America, Argentina and a dozen other countries that then finally Serbia was starting to take over?

Can you please tell me where the Serbs are taking over other than in your imagination. Thank you.

  10. In a way yes if you look at the top tennis players.

  11. no

  12. in the sense that there are three top 3 players, yes. but overall no. russia still leads the way as a collective prominence on the women's tour. and after that, you still got france, america, spain and argentina(especially on the men's side).

  13. they are good but Russia has been doing that for years.

also the old days Sweden players crowed the top ten.

Spanier also has great success over the years.

  14. I hope!! It is true ana, nenad, jelena, janko, novak, viktor....there are so many!! Pluse Novak's brothers!!!

  15. Not completely taken over, yet.

but we're working on it :)

  16. Not any more than Spain,Russia and in another category France and Argentina. The countries that are definitely not quite up there are Australia,G.B. and the possibly the U.S.( in a slight decline).

  17. nooooooooo

  18. Serbian players belong to word's best players. And they are young and strong and they have future.

The best point and an example to follow is: all of them are raised in the country, that was bombed badly and their childhood was marked with many limitations, but they've managed to reach the top under non human circumstances.

We are proud they are our chidren.

They are the winners from every point of view.

  19. Serbs have big names in all sports, not only tennis, they are great basketball players. When my dad was in Hungary on the basketball team, there used to be lots of Serbs. There were lots of them in Romania as well, great athletes!

  20. Lots of them out there - and well done to the Serbs

Some tennis coaches and Academies have great success in teaching their students, until others, get onto their methods then it becomes an even playing field again for a while.

The British were Cricket heroes until the colonies learnt to play and started to w*p them.
