  1. it depends on how many hours you spend at work. if you spend 6 hrs a day at 12 dollars an hour, then driving 35 minutes to work is worth it.

  2. no thats average.  I do it all the time.. Your fine.

  3. like the first guy said. it all depend on what car you got and what size of engine you got. if you got any type of 4 cylinder it going to be good and you are going to save some money but if you have a V6 you are not likely to save a lot of me with 4 cylinder but if you have an V8 than you are s***w. i bough Tahoe before but i took it back and got me a 05 CRV because my BMW M6 also take a lot of gas. its has V10 and gets about 12 on the city and 18 on the high so sometimes i only get 14 miles on the highway because i drive fast. so which ever car you drive it better to drive 60mph or 65mph that way you'll save gas and money trying it i save a lot of money with my CRV driving 60 to 65MPH on Highway. good luck.

  4. I drive 45 minutes each way to a place that I do voluntary work. I am on a disability support pension, and have no other income. I would drive twice the distance if I had to do so. It is a good feeling knowing I am contributing to a good cause. I pay my own petrol, own my own car, have insurance, and pay all my bills myself. Money is very tight, but I just manage.

How blessed are you to have a job, and be able to work and be self sufficient. Your pay will increase along the line, or you could get another job if you aren't happy.

  5. Yes. Peanuts!

  6. 35 minutes? No.

  7. Well... according to our county's 2006 census, the average drive to work is 45 minutes, and I used to drive 55 miles one way for a job where I was paid $12.70/hr.

No, It's not far at all. Especially if you take highways.

  8. at the cost of fuel, a 35 minute drive one way is costing you 12 or 15 dollars a day to get to and from work that 60 dollars or more  dollars a week and at 12 dollars an hour, I don't see how you can afford to do that.

  9. I guess it all depends on what car you drive and what gas mileage you get.  If you get 25+ miles per gallon average (city and highway) then its not so bad but anything under that would probably not be worth the trip. Keep in mind gas prices have been high for the past couple of years and it doesn't look like its coming down.

  10. Depends on what vehicle you drive and how you manage your money. If you do all your calculations, per month do you have any extra cash to use or does it all go to your bills and you are barely making it?

With my lifestyle and the car that I drive I wouldn't be able to afford driving that far to work and only making that much. Of all the jobs that I've had the longest it took me to get to work was 20 minutes. I wouldn't want to spend any more time on the road than that.

  11. I've known those who drove more for less.  Depends on traffic for me.  If you want to save money maybe you can carpool.  If nothing else drive to someone who lives closer and then carpool.  You can save gas that way but be willing to help the driver with his/her own fuel costs.

  12. NAH,IT`S OKAY

  13. It all depends.  If you really love your job and you can't get a comparable job closer to your home, then I guess it's all right.  But if the job is nothing special, then it's kind of pointless.
