  1. I think there are too many mainstream type of gyms- you know, the ones with rooms full of cardio equipment for middle aged women to use in a vein attempt to burn off the celulite before their summer holiday, and machines instead of proper free weights and spotty college kids for instructors who think a "dead lift" is a broken elevator.

The big chains already have this base covered pretty well, I think.

What the world needs is real proper "hardcore" gyms, with punchbags and squat racks and atlas stones...all free weights and not an exercise bike or weight machine in sight.

Real spit'n sawdust type places, where men can train like men.

Unfortunatly, I have to travel a 40 mile round trip five days a week to train in such a place.

  2. In my area south of Glasgow there is dozens of them that dont get used as most people cant afford them.

  3. Set one up round my end, make sure it has hydrotherapy, sauna, swimming pool, and you are away- oh, and make it cheaper than TOTAL FITNESS!!

  4. Erm yes,,,ever heard of the national Fitness First group?

  5. yes of course lots of big people in UK consider a woman only gym as long as it meets all there demands which can be long but financially worth it
