  1. They are really quite sick, that poor child in the Fendi bib has been made a fool of and I feel so sorry that the ad teams find it acceptable.

  2. They are in poor taste. Just  as bad are the adverts that United Colours of Benetton use. This one was in particularly in bad taste.

David Kirby on his death bed dying of AIDS surrounded by family members.

  3. No as advertising they are the pits in taste. But they have caused a reaction which in turns brings in publicity which translates into sales.

I find these pictures very interesting, not in the way the magazine has intended . They are a reflection of the crass futility of high priced designer goods made by people so poor in money, adorning people poor in values. They serve to highlight the total and utter stupidity of people who would pay hundreds of dollars for a designer bib or umbrella while fellow human beings struggle to buy food.

The pictures really are pathetic , in the true sense of the word.

  4. I saw this earlier. I can't explain an opinion but on first seeing them I sighed, groaned, and mumbled "Oh dear", if that tells you anything.

  5. Hi Faith,

    No I wouldn't.....

  6. noooooooooooo

  7. No. And the editor does not get it at all. Rich imbecile!

  8. No  they are not.Quite the opposite.

  9. put these ads into context

imagine the fendi bibs and bags etc - being used in a fashion shoot in an area in desperate need for regeneration in the uk (sink estates) - the models would be wearing the uniform of the poor (tracksuits etc see jeremy kyle show for examples)

the imagery would be seen as ironic - don't forget, these are items that only about 0.05% of the world's population can afford - most of us mere mortals can't afford them on above average wages, let along if we were amongst that huge group of people living way below the poverty line. is it in good taste? no - however, such images in high fashion are considered 'ad art', and should be viewed in such a 'fashion'.

  10. When did taste ever have anything to do with high fashion?

  11. Not at all.

  12. When has high fashion ever been in touch with good taste and indeed reality.

They starve young models to the point of death so that a piece of rag can hang straight.

Models go to photographers not to be models, but just to be airbrushed into impossibility.

All to sell us a total lie; and we buy it.

The only way to answer Vogue is to not buy it .. ever.

These stupid editors must be put out of work.I have found too that poor people (I don't mean lazy scrounger poor) have an inbuilt dignity that far surpasses anything; certainly the editors have no grace, dignity, good taste or anything else except crassness.

  13. Advertisements and Good Taste are not always good bed fellows.

  14. Absolutely not.

I'd say it takes the p**s big time

  15. Fashion is for stupid people, especially fur wearers!

  16. Typical, those who make the clothes are never the ones who can afford to buy it.

  17. NO

  18. well at least they aren't buying/wearing  those cheap copies that I see everywhere

  19. h**l no and the pathetic defense by vogue just rubs salt in.

  20. not much different than here. you see people with big gold chains hanging from their necks and driving Cadillacs, while living in government housing , sucking up welfare and food stamps. some people, have no shame....................

  21. No, I'd call them sick.

Like most of the "fashion" industry.
