Would you say this is ignorant??

Question

So me and a friend of mine were talking and the story about the white guy who shot the two black men who broke into the house next door to him came up. Well if you seen this on the news or heard about it know about what happen....well after the white guy shot the two black men the "Black Panthers" got involved and started with their protesting and calling it racist and everything...later everyone found out that the guys weren't even black they were Puerto Rican and then the black panthers just disappeared...no more protesting or anything...now isn't all that just a little ignorant?? And all you who want to call me ignorant or racist can kiss my *** :)...I just want to know what people think about the whole thing that black panthers just showed that they will only help if your black.....in most cases.

just because they stopped protesting it, doesn't mean they now condone it

though, i do think people get too swept up in talking about how oppressed blacks are

not saying racism is dead, because i know of people who still are racist

but i think people jump to conclusions, that if its a white man and black man involved, it probably includes racism

unfortunately, thats very sad and yes i think the ignorant thing is that the BP automatically assumed because the shooters were white it makes them racist.  i dont know the whole story but i highly doubt that they were shot for being black. if something were to come out in the news proving it was a racially motivated crime then i think the BP have right to be upset.

[edit] mariodee- you have to realise that those who ARE racist are the ignorant ones stuck in the past and not give into their ideas. black people are not the only people on the planet who experience racism. ive experienced it as a white person who went to an all black middle school. i was outcast and assumed to be racist just because im white. i was never rude to anyone and in fact tried to be friends with people but they refused to be friends with me becuase i was white.

Lets face it. Being black on this planet is the worst thing possiable, because the vast majority of humans think negativly about Black people, even other blacks. Blacks have to have someone to fight for them, they cannot just blend into society with that SKIN condition an all.

I'm not trying to be racist by saying this, but it seems like people only care about crimes when a minority was at fault. What about the people who are being hurt, killed, murdered, and raped who aren't a minority? What about them? Who is there to stand up for caucasian people? Asian people? Hispanic people? And everyone else? It bothers me that if anything at all happens to an african american person it turns into a huge deal. If something happens with people of other descents, no one pushes the issue.  It is ignorant. I am not trying to be racist at all. I believe all races should be treated equally, but they're not.

African American's say that racism effects them most. At one time, that was true. But now, it's effecting allot of people other then them. (I know it's still effecting them to some degree.) I think it's racist that theres no one to stand up for other races. We're just labeled as enemies. Never victims.

I think it's selfish. They're not the only ones who have to deal with rascism. They seem to forget that a lot of people have and still are today. The problem is that instead of helping they are stuck in the past. But that's just me.

They are an extremist group dedicated to the militant defense of their views.  Certainly, I agree with their accusation that the U.S. government has historically mistreated blacks.  But...have you seen the rest of their agenda?  They are nut-bags!

Organizations like the Black Panthers desperately need racism to exist, that is why any opportunity to shout racism about a big news story is not passed up they jumped the gun and did not have their facts straight. Yes they were ignorant of what was really happening  but this has never stopped them before.

I was mad that he killed the two people.  Stuff is not worth murdering others over.  No one was in any danger of being killed until the guy walked out of of HIS house.  He shot them when the cops were about 30 seconds away.  He took the law into his own hands and that was wrong.  I could see him doing that if people were in the home...
