OK, so I moved yesterday and I found the movers behavior to be really unprofessional...I just wanna see what other people think...

First they told me they were going to be two hours late. I was fine with that.

Well, once they moved all my stuff into the truck and were at the new place, they say "Oh, we've got another job at 6:30, we won't be able to move your stuff into the house We'll leave it on the front lawn."

So, I told them to cut $50 off my bill since they weren't moving all the stuff. One of the guys got really upset about that and broke one of my lamps.

How unprofessional would you say that was?

  1. That was very unprofessional!  Call the company, speak with a supervisor/manager and tell them what happened and if that is normal for them.  They should replace the lamp and reimburse you for not moving everything INSIDE the house!  You can call the Better Business Bureau in your area to report them and make sure the supervisor/manager knows you will do that if he does not compensate you.

  2. Extremely unprofessional!  I would not have let them leave my stuff on the lawn.  I would be speaking with their supervisor.  I would have refuse to pay until the job was complete.

  3. Who are these clowns?  Very unprofessional.  First they were late and now they had to rush off to someone else's job?  I would report them to somebody or maybe call their boss or whoever they are working for.

  4. They were unprofessional, and you let them get away with it. They got to you late, then told you to suck it up so they didn't get to the next place late.

You should have phoned their supervisor before they left and insisted that they finish the job they had agreed to do.

When the fellow broke your lamp, that was past unprofessional into illegal vandalism. At that point, you should have phoned the police.

  5. unprofessional enough to call their manager.

  6. just let it go, and when they bill you say I dont pay until the jobs done

  7. Highly unprofessional.

If you have the scope of work in writing, you have every right to object to their behavior and incomplete work.

It's not uncommon for women to be taken advantage of in this circumstance.

    Sorry you endured that!

  8. you  are  right  of  course

but sometimes  in life  right  only  gets  you  so  far.

given  that its  your stuff, its  just  better  not  to  p**s  them  off.

you  have  means at  your  fingertips   to  discredit them,  especially  if  they  are  a big  company. go online  and  find as  may forums  for  consumer  reviews as  you  can  and trash their name  like  they trashed  your  lamp.

write  it  in  word  then  copy  and  paste  it  everywhere  you  can.

this  works  especially  well  when the  company  is  specified  and the  option  to  review  is  specific  to  that  company like  with  ebay  or  amazon  reviews

personally  as  a strong  male  i  would  have  said  you  get  paid  when  the  job is  done or  the  the  contract is  void

  9. Very unprofessional.  What if it started to rain on all your stuff?  After the broken lamp, I would have said "Take another $10 off for the lamp."

Call up the owner of the moving business.  If they do nothing, call up the Better Business Bureau.

  10. makes me sick

dat was super unprofesional becuz wat the customer tells you the worker must do

  11. very unprofessional id tell their boss

  12. That's totally unprofessional.  I'd call the company they work for and file a complaint.  There's just no excuse for that.  There job is to MOVE.  That means furniture into the house.  I've never in my life heard of movers just leaving stuff on the lawn.  That's bogus.  Call the company and talk to a manager or someone.

  13. Very Unprofessional. He did not even complete his job all the way so cutting the $50 wasn't your fault. Well, too bad he had a job at 6:30. No matter how angry he was, he shouldn't have broken any of your belongings.

  14. That's extremely unprofessional and you shouldn't let it go unreported. At least inform the company, if not the police.

  15. Who were these movers, professionals or semi-pro?  I mean if it were out of the neighborhood papers, man with van, kind of thing, you probably have little to no recourse since guys like that are fly by night.  If it was a professional moving company call the office and complain.  I am sure that they will try to reach some level of satisfaction with you.  They don't want their reputation sullied.  The manager will actually appreciate feedback.

  16. that is totally crazy !!

i would have called boss and had them fired and demanded payment for the lamp and maybe not even paid for the move at all depending...i hope this is a national company so you can contact HR dept.

  17. Very Unprofessiopnal and I would call the Company.  more than $50 for your trouyble.  that is not good at all. and now ther eis damage.  call the company

  18. Can I say one thing?

    WOW!!!

Call the owner, that is terrible!

  19. That was very immature what he did. I would get very angry if someone did that to my stuff.
