Hey, at this point in my life,  I would settle for just the privilege of being there in Beijing watching the games.  

What would I do with a medal anyway?  Ha, ha.

Edit:  oh yes, indeed, I hadn't thought of that - polish it.  In that case, I would prefer bronze.  It would match my furniture better.  LOL

virgo - and i figure if i am going to go for any title or compete i want the gold what's the point if you don't want the best and top prize or spot .

Oh, I am so competitive. I have to have gold! I'd probably try to reason with myself about how lucky I was to even place and get so far...But there'd be this surging feeling within me that would be dying for my rightful place at the top. I'd probably spend a bit of time plotting the winner's death until I got over it. Especially if I got the silver....It's so close, yet so far.....
