Would you space lovers still want to make direct contact with aliens even if they were here to enslave humans?

Why not, people want to save the grizzly bears when they like to eat people.  The same people want to make nice with terrorists who will just cut their heads off and put it on YouTube.

You need to stop getting your ideas about aliens from Hollywood. A race that was sufficiently advanced technically to get here in the first place, would certainly have no use at all for human slaves. They'd have machines that do their work for them, and machines don't have to be fed or rested. If aliens ever arrive here, you may be very sure that their intentions toward us will be entirely peaceful. There would be absolutely no motivation for them to be otherwise.
