Question:

Would you steal something if you really needed it?

I was having an argument with my friend the other day. She said that if she was in dire need of something like money or food, she would steal it. I said that it was wrong to steal no matter what the circumstances are. (and yes I know that we have strange conversations.) I said that there are other alternatives than stealing, in which ways, you wouldn't have to lose your integrity. Who do you agree with?

  1. Integrity is first. But I am not gonna judge people. Sometimes this life is so 'does not make sense'...

Your friend seems to be rationale from what she says. I hope you and her are never ever in such hard situations.

  2. yes if i really needed it

  3. Stealing is wrong!!

Tell your friend that there are enough social services agencies out there that if she needs food or money to buy other necessities, they can help her without her resorting to stealing.

If she is caught stealing, she will not have to worry about food, because they will feed her in jail/prison.

  4. No, never. Stealing is a very bad habit. All religions and laws of the world don't allow you to steal. God is the one who provides things to the human beings. So, to get something, we should never steal. In my religion Islam, the penalty for the person who steals a thing is to cut his hand. You might think from this that Islam is a cruel religion, but then have you ever thought that how many people steal in countries like Saudi Arabia where this law of cutting hands has been enforced. I think that whole world should use this law, you will have to cut some hands of some people, but after that, stealing will never be found in the world. That is why that Saudi Arabia, averagely only 7 people steal in 1 year while in country like USA, this rate is a 100 times more.

  5. No stealing is bad

  6. You guys are talking apples and oranges.  Your premise is that there is another alternative way to survive and her premise is that there is no alternative because there is an absolute need.  First settle on the terms of the argument and then carry on.

  7. NO! God will provide for you...He feeds the birds in the air-do you really think he'll forget to feed you???...NO!
