  1. I think everyone should get there bikes ready and the seaters ready to replace family vans

  2. the higher the price, the slower I drive. Don't really have a choice to bike or mass transit, so I do what I can with what I have.

  3. I have set my mark at 2.15 $.

After that I will be without a car.

I have already tried many techniques to carry heavy loads without a car.

The bus/subway network in my region is fairly developed but the problem is the time it takes:  4 or 5 times longer.

I am thinking of buying a scooter.

  4. i sure will just not as much, i am  sure that others will fallow.

  5. YES! Even though I would hate it. But, I imagine when gas hits $5.00 a gallon, people will all change their routines. I'm already to the point where I consider packing a lunch to save on fuel during break. If the gas prices get much higher this won't be an option, but a necessity and a norm. Which will start affecting the restraunt industry. For me, ride sharing is out of the question, but this too will become a necessity if GAS keeps increasing in cost.

  6. yes.. u know like who carez about the price! u know a car is like a very very good facility to get from one place to another so yes

  7. No.  At that price it would be cheaper to buy lots of guns and bullets and go hunting, particlarly there would be a lot of two legged rats in Washington DC that would make real interesting Wall trophies.

  8. i would probably ride a bike everywhere

  9. With the advent in the '40s and '50s of cheap and plentiful cars and gasoline, there began a mass exodus from the cities to 'bedroom communities' in the suburbs.

In the next few (less than 10) years we are going to see the reverse trend simply because peeps who work in cities won't be able to afford the drive to work and back.

It's going to be very interesting, though sad, to see the decisions that peeps make because of this. Will the city property increase in price and outlying properties decrease?

Or will the opposite occur because of people wanting to get to small communities to be more self-sufficient?

  10. Of course not. I would ride a bike everyday. I hate paying the price $4 a gallon, but I'm holding up, but spending $300 every time I go to get gas would be insane. I wish it was a like it was a long time ago...30 cents a gallon haha

  11. good question, id like to say no but ithink most people will still drive...probably just take money from somewhere else in the budget.

  12. I think that, by the time it reaches $10.00 a gallon (and, sadly, I fear it will -- and SOON!), people will be far more willing to urge all their politicians to re-think transportation of all kind, in all ways.

Unfortunately, there are people who live in cold areas where bicycling wouldn't be feasible.  There are people who live too far away from public transportation stops.

But it sure as h**l is TIME that we all pitch together and write and phone our politicians and demand action... and to keep at it!  We ALL must do our part.

For me, I've ALREADY cut down considerably.  At $4.10, my gasoline is way too expensive for me NOW.

And you all DO know that vehicles CAN be designed to go HUGE more amounts of miles than the auto industry will allow, right?

It's absolutely sickening, and humans did this to themselves.

    [War is h**l]

  13. NO
