  1. hecks no!

  2. no, one of the reasons I don't buy Michael Jackson CD's or that other guy who pees on little girls, I forget his name. It's reprehensible, and I won't support their habits. Although, if you think about it by buying the artist's CD's who knows what kind of habits you're helping to support, drugs, alchohol, whatever. So I don't guess it really matters, but it's important to stand by your principles, if you don't feel comfortable buying a CD because of what the artist does in his/her personal life, then don't let anyone else try to convince you that you're "wrong". You have a right to your opinion!

  3. No I would not.

  4. No way!!!!  People like that dont deserve the freedom to be able to make the music anyway, so why should they have the royalties aswell?

  5. I think this is a good question.  Gary Glitter was convicted of his crimes and a few years ago before then everybody I knew would get up and dance along to his music and probably had a picture on their wall in the 70s, now I cant even listen to his music, seeing his face gives me the crees!  As for Micheal Jackson, I believe there is something seriously not right with the guy (although it was never proved that he did anything sexual with any boys) but I still think he is a fantastic musician and would still listen to his music and why is it when I look at him I just feel pity for him and feel that he is just trying to regress to being a child?!!

  6. I wouldn't pay. If I really liked the music I'd download it for free haha, they don't deserve my money really.

  7. yeah it dusnt matter as long as the song rocks your socks

  8. Actually, I would.

It's not that I don't care about their pedophilia, or any similar matter they will have.

If you actually look at the factors, many artists will never see the money.  By buying the album of an artist, you're usually paying the producer.  A lot of artists produce an album, and sell the masters -- which means that they no longer see the royalties.  By this standard, the company that produces and funds the music is paying the artist a certain amount of money to "buy" the rights to the music -- and all profits then go to the producer.

Therefore, I'm not supporting their habits.  I am, however, supporting the producers -- and everyone they hire to make the music happen.  The manager, editing staff, production crew, etc. can still make money from it.  As will anyone with stock in the company.

Furthermore, about three fourths of those in the entertainment business have a problem with drugs or alcohol.  If you refuse to purchase the music of a pedophile on the grounds of supporting a negative habit, that means that about 3/4 of all music shouldn't be purchased.  Furthermore, about 7/8 of *popular* music artists are drug users.

All the same, you're often not supporting the artist.  You're supporting the company that bought the music from the artist, and whatever retailer you buy the music from.

Sophie:  Maybe you are one of the many that don't understand, Amy Winehouse would probably never see that money.  It would go to whoever owns the masters and the rights to her music.

  9. I don't tend to buy music or anything so no

  10. if it was a proved and accused paedophile no I wouldn't.

  11. Are we taking Gary Glitter here?

    I can't imagine many pedophiles release much music...but no I wouldn't

  12. Not in a million years, same for rapists. I find it bizarre that they would, you are 100% right end of.

  13. No way. But then again... how many are pedophiles that we don't know about?

  14. No I wouldn't

If I liked an artist and found out they had some sort of behaviour that I really disagreed with it would sour what I thought of their music.

For another example - I think that Amy Winehouse can really sing and I like her sound and lyrics. What I don't like is that she obviously has a serious drug problem, by buying her music I would be saying that I think that is ok and I would be giving her money to support her habit. So I don't by any of her stuff.

  15. are you mad i would never because it will make him rich and then it might even enciurage him to do more besides if he knows his fans are nit buying it would click to him because of his bad ways so he would maybe stop so his songs get more famous .

  16. No i wouldn't, although millions arguably already have if you consider michael jackson to be guilty of accusations made against him. The artist should not even have the liberty to be releasing music for others to buy, he should be locked up or six foot under

  17. yes if you like the music it shouldn't matter the person

  18. Absolutely not. I'm not going to fund their lifestyle so they can jet off Gary Glitter-style to Thailand and abuse more children.

  19. No I wouldn't - I beleive that dead people (as these offenders should be) should not be alowed to make music or any contribution to society (other than very painful medical research)

  20. No I dont even like to hear Gary Glitter songs on the radio makes me shiver

  21. no

  22. yeah i would if the music was decent. but that is kind of weird that they would be a pedophile...

  23. No way!!! It wouldn't matter how much I like their music it becomes a matter of morals. Would the same people who would continue to buy the music of an artist who it is categorically known to be a peadophile, give money to the local peadophile who lives down the road from them? I think not, why should a recording artist be any different? How can anybody listen to a recording artist who is a peadophile sing about love, and what they want to do, and not believe that they were thinking about children whilst they sing it? The thought makes me nauseous.

  24. NO WAY!

  25. probably not

  26. well i go with you on this one  ,i wont be buyin any more Gary Glitter i can tel you!

  27. No, I can't say that I would.

  28. no way i wouldnt give them my money no matter how good the song was

  29. No. If I already purchased the music and then found out, I would bin it and never listen to them again.

I won't feed a paedophile or keep them in luxury, no matter how good their songs are.

I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and no song or album is so good to make me put to one side, the fact that the person has sexually abused little children :)
