Would you still call this love or a crush , or is it something else ??

Hi, I am a 18 year old g*y guy ; I liked my professor becoz he is good looking , I used to fancy him in my dreams ; BUT today something happened that has put me to question all this ,

Today morning , I was in college & some of my friend were hanging around , Anyways the conversation started between us , & I brought the conversation to my professor , b`coz I just like to listen about him from others ; & all of a sudden we started talking about how he was working in a company ; & my friend said " OMG ,He is so intelligent , He has such a brain , He used to work in a company , where they paid him 1021 $ / month & when he left the company for teaching career ; they were begging him to join again "

These words were somewhat not comfortable to me , See , If I liked him I should be happy with his achievements ; right ??

But then why did I felt sort of Jealous ?? Or is it that it was not love /crush in the first place ??

Ok, this is seriously wrong. Having a thing for one of your teachers can be dangerous, if you intend for anything to go past liking from a distance. You shouldn't be worried about his past life, because it is only a crush, right?

You shouldn't take it any further, it isn't really healthy. Move on, slowly.

You may be enamored by his powerful position.  If he worked for a company, he would no longer have this "glorified" position and the positive valence you had for him diminished.  Beware of emotional attraction based on "perceptions" of people.  Dating and interpersonal interaction help us to find out who people really are, and not just the facade they present in public.  Then we find out that they put their pants on one leg at a time, just like the rest of us.

Moreover, there are prohibitions against having emotional relationships with authority figures, and this is one reason why.  The other is that authority figures have an unfair advantage over a younger person's emotions.

i think that it is very inappropriate to like your teacher number one... i can almost assure u that nothing will happen unless u graduate because that is wrong on so many levels && i dont think he wants 2 loose his job... #2 i think u do have a crush on ur teacher but it needs 2 end

Idk. I think that's kind of cool of him to quit for teaching.

I think mostly everyone at some point has a crush on their teachers. But I don't think you can fully love someone you don't really know.

People usually have these crushes because they admire their teacher, and they're someone to look up to. Hopefully it'll pass for you.
