Would you still love your favourite cricketer if you found out he had done something terrible?

What would you do if you found out your favourite cricketer had committed a truly awful crime?

Like discovering Ricky Ponting was a mass murderer, Sachin Tendulkar was a paedophile, or Graeme Smith was a rapist?

And before anyone says so, I'm not saying that any of the above mentioned have committed these crimes. They haven't. They are just examples.

Would you still love them if they had done these things?

  1. no i wouldn't.....

  2. No I wont.

  3. maybe if kevin pieterson had raped an old granny or freddie flintoff had kicked a baby but if any other cricketer did something i would have to say no, i would not be so forgiving ....

  4. Well is the crime is as serious as you have given as examples then No not at all.

  5. Even if they did have great skill, I would never be able to respect  them, they would have ruined their image as a role-model for me.

  6. Lol is it wrong that I laughed when I read this question? :)

I would have to say, even though I am addicted to Mr Bell, if something that shockingly bad came out about him I would no longer love him. I would still admire the shots he played and how well he did in his career (okay its not that great but still!) however I wouldn't be able to like or respect him as a person knowing the terrible things he has done.

Oh and Hannah, how do you think I felt when Paul was found in that strip club?! I was shocked to say the least! lol

  7. YES!

I would still love them for what they have done to cricket.I would still admire them for what they have done in cricket to their country & I would still like them as a cricketer.

This can be taken out like this:

    Eg

There was a wrestler named Chris Benoit. He killed his wife & his son & then killed himself. He was steroid addicted. Now,he is no more..But he was a greatest legend in wrestling who was one of the greatest ever to step into a wrestling ring.despite his actions,I like him very much as ever.

This was just an example of a true incident.

In this way,I can say that I may still like my favourite cricketer despite if he commits a terrible thing.

  8. My favourite player is Daniel Vettori & I can't picture that saintly face doing anything bad, but if he did, I would be just as angry as I would were it anyone else.

  9. No I wouldn't, and I would more likely be absolutely devasted.

I was crushed when Paul Collingwood was found in that strip club in South Africa. Not the most heinous of crimes, but I just felt so let down!!

  10. My favourite player is Ryan Ten Doeschate,  who plays for Essex.  I doubt that I would still consider him a good Person but  I would still respect his cricketing abilities but no longer adore the player.

  11. Love Beefy and he's been known (with his mate Viv) to partake in a little after dinner "smoke" Hey kids smoking ain't big and should not be partaken before, during or after dinner - if you get my meaning!

  12. No!

I wouldnt love a close friend or family member if they did that! there's some stuff in life that is unforgivable!!

I would still respect Vaughan for the stuff he did for English cricket and still admire his cricketing skills!

  13. No. Definatly no.

  14. A crimes a crime, but it depends on how bad the crime is, murderer, pedophile or rapist then I'd be questioning whether or not to like them anymore, if they are guilty then I'd probably feel they deserve everything they get (prison most likely). If it was Monty though I'd still believe he was innocent even if they had DNA evidence against him, it's hard not to love Monty.
