Wrestling had become tremendously popular over the last few years. So it is natural that more and more people want to become wrestlers. Most want to do it for the fame, money, or they think it’s an exciting lifestyle. Well, wrestlers are famous, they do make a lot of money, and their lives are pretty exciting. The average wrestler wannabe doesn’t know what a wrestler’s life is really like. They don’t realize how much work and dedication they need to become successful. Being a wrestler may seem glamorous, but it’s anything but.

Probably the biggest misconception about wrestling is how many times someone must work. Most people see wrestlers once or twice a week, and think that’s all they do. What these people don’t get to see are all the house shows. A house show is a wrestling event not televised. The average wrestler does his job in the ring 4-5 times a week. And if you thing that’s not hard work, go to a wrestling school and go at it for about twenty minutes. Then tell me it’s not hard.

There’s also the life on the road. Picture yourself as a wrestler. You wake up at 7:00 in the morning. You get to the airport at 8:30. You take a flight across the country and arrive at 11:00. After renting a car, checking into a hotel room, and something to eat, it’s 1:00. Time to go to a photo shoot. So you drive to a mall and sign autographs until 3:00. It’s time to head on over to the arena. Getting through traffic, you might make it by 4:30. After you eat something and do a short workout, it’s 5:30. At that time you go talk to one of the bookers and he goes over your match with you. If you can find the time, you and your opponent do a quick run down of what’s going to happen. By then it’s 7:00 and it’s time to go on. You wrestle a match and leave the arena at 10:00. You get to the hotel by 12:00 and get some sleep before you do it all over again in the morning. Now find time to workout and keep the marvelous body a wrestler has. And you want some sort of social life don’t you? Good luck.

Would you?

Or do you still want to?

  1. Yeah that's pretty much what my non-wrestling friends tell me,but it's like i tell them THAT'S PART OF THE BUSINESS! I know that i don't underestimate the scheduling of a professional wrestler rather it be a WWE,TNA,or Indy Superstar. But no matter what i WILL & i AM going to be a pro wrestler, and i don't give a d**n about what company i work for! Starred

Edit:Yeah it's like [[Hannah Hardy]] said i too have done my research,i had to learn the terminology, how the business works, and what goes on backstage & despite all of the knowledge i have to learn i still want to be a pro wrestle.

  2. I understand all of the dedication wrestlers have for this industry. Most wrestlers aren't able to see their newborn baby until they're at least 5 months old. But you do what you have to do.

  3. i totally agree with hannah hardy. (we cool)

i AM training to be a wrestler. And i alredy knew about all that. thats why i want to do it.

    it will be awesome.

  4. Wow! Wrestlers have it bad! Well really the Main Eventers! Jobbers and low rated Midcarders have it more easy, but they probably get paid a little amount of money compared to the Main Eventers!

  5. Totally correct the same concept goes with any professional sport though very few fans realize how many hours players put in on the field, hardwood or ice, however, there are organizations who can't afford to travel world wide and stay in a regional area (this is one of the reasons Kurt Angle left the WWE for TNA they do like 3-6 weeks of taping in one day and while their travel is increasing it's still no where near the demands of the WWE).  New Japan is another organization where wrestlers don't have to travel as far as they would in the states and they can make pretty good money.  It comes down to this, it's a job with hard hours and long days but in the end if it's something you love to do it's worth it.

  6. I want to become a Wrestler and i still do. I've read plenty about it and even started looking at schools and applying for Visa's. If its my dream im gonna try and make it whatever happens.

After reading that, it makes me even more determined to do it.

  7. i never wanted to become a wrestler in the first place i love watching it be i dont actually want to be in it

  8. i would still want to because i love wrestlin to much

  9. I still would love to be a WWE diva someday, but after i finish college

Ya it may be tiring but think of this way you are gonna be tired after any job you have so why not have one that takes you across the world every year, pays decent and is never the same everyday!

  10. yeah i stil lwant to wrestle its my life long dream and i plan on working my butt off week after week to get to the top of the mountain whether its WWE or TNA it doesnt matter as long as i follow my dream and dont give up on it
