They refuse to use gasoline until the conflict in Iraq is resolved. How about you? Do you believe the lust for oil is what put us in this situation? Or at least contributed?

If so, do you (or have you) changed your driving habits out of respect for our soldiers? Please share your thoughts and stories!

  1. This movement is ridiculous. It would never get so big to a point where it would actually make a difference in the war. America has become a country where we rely on our cars to get us around

  2. The best hope you have of ending war in Iraq is by making intellegent choices on your voting forms this year.... Your country hasn't done well in the past 8 yrs with it's choices...

  3. I was a Marine. And went to Iraq three times.

My driving habits have absolutely nothing in the slightest  to do with respect or lack of respect for my fellow Marines and soldiers.

    They're completely unrelated topics.

I think Park4Peace has lost their mind. The only statement that they're making is that rather than do anything solid and productive, they're whining like children. Sorry to say it, but that's the impression I get. When I was overseas, I'd rather get care packages or cards, then be told a bunch of wackos had decided to stop driving, in "support" of us.

The only thing symbolic about it, is that it shows the inherent lack of understanding that the public has about what makes a statement, and what doesn't. Just like boycotting a cigarette company doesn't affect a single thing, neither will this.

  4. It won't end it so no.

  5. How ridiculous.

Now if the protest were about global warming or something...

I was a soldier, and I went over to the desert.  I agree that a care package would be far more effective.  If I were over in Iraq right now and heard this, it would just be another thing to be annoyed about.  How short-sighted.

  6. no.....that would not help.

  7. besides the gas prices the war has effected me as much as it could. my dad went twice an a bunch of my friends went as well as much as for 3 years i also had a friend die over there. i did change my driving habits i used to drive about 20 miles to go play in the snow in my truck or the mud but now i dont an i had to stop driving my truck so im driving my car to an from work an grocery store stuff like that.

  8. What on earth make you think this would work???? This is crazy...
