What if the law also had a statute which made conspiracy to organize or facilitate raping minors punishable by the death sentence, would you still support it?

  1. No, I don't believe rape of a minor should be punished by the death penalty.

I would only support the death penalty in cases where there was 100% proof of a person's guilt for a pre meditated murder. And even then not in all circumstances.

    ! Answers - I don't think Robert G is a feminist.

  2. No way. Not with how things are these days and frankly the old days werent that much better with police investigations and now the revelations of false accusations and witch hunts.

I would much rather have them in jail and if they are innocent, then atleast they may have a chance at freedom.

How many innocent people (men usually) are you sexist feminists prepared to kill in the name of angry feminism.

  3. I think that raping someone is almost as bad as murder.

  4. Yes to all.

  5. I go back and forth about that. At this point, I think the death penalty should be reserved for terrorists.

  6. I wouldnt. Its better to let a criminal go scott free (society will punish him anyway) than see a thousand innocent people dead because of false accusations.

  7. why not as death is a natural function no one makes it out alive anyway and with all the nasties in this world there are fates much worse than death. like the majority of victims who cant enjoy life for the rest of their life anyway.

  8. I don't agree with the death penalty at all... we're all human, and no one should have the right to take someone else's life. The sentence for raping a child should be life in prison, for conspiracy I'm not sure... probably a shorter jail sentence. It would be difficult to prove.

  9. I have never believed in the death penalty under any circumstance.  What is the death penalty but legalized murder.  Murder is always wrong.

  10. Yes in public, so no one dares to do it again.....

  11. Yes. Start with this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Owen_Lafave

  12. YES..Any pervert who would hurt a child in that way to pleasure himself deserves to die in a slow painful death!!!

  13. Yes, absolutely to both. I would not limit the laws to the rape of minors, but also the rape of adults.

But it must be legitimately a rape, not a minor who willingly participates but is determined not capable of providing legal consent. Punishments for that are wrong.

  14. Never. I'm not against the old 'eye for an eye' adage, but killing somebody doesn't teach them any lesson. Keeping someone in jail for the rest of their life does. In addition, it costs (on average) more to kill a person in jail then it does to have them locked away for 50 years. Look it up. The crime is horrible, but the death penalty is not the right solution.

As a side note, torture, under certain conditions, may be appropriate.

  15. No two wrongs do not make it right.

If rapist is inhuman we need not to prove that we are in the same league as him.

Moreover most of such people have themselves undergone such experiences when they were child. They need to be cured(with or without punishment) and not killed.

  16. Yes, I would support it. Anyone that even THINKS about raping a minor is someone that should be killed.

  17. no, i agree that society will deem an appropiate punishment on the guilty person. also, it is possible for the person to change his or her ways, sexual desires can be suppressed. i think the majority of the population would NOT support the law, and as a democratic system the US has to abide with that.

  18. No.  It is noted that very harsh punishments often cause the perpetuaters to kill their victims as a measure to remove the evidence.  So this will cause only death of more minors.

Rape is just physical violence and some mental violence.  I dont support even the present level of harshness of punishment for all kinds of rape.

  19. there shouldn't be a death penalty for anything, people are much more likely to suffer if you make them live with what they've done for the rest of their lives in a cell, they should get a life sentence though, and when i say life sentence i mean it, not just 13years and let out after 7 for "good behaviour"

  20. I do not believe in the death penalty for any crime.  God gave life and only God can take it away.
