  1. well where I live the age requirement is 21. I am married and 20 and my husband will be 21 in one month and we wish that we could just purchase our alcohol for our wedding anniversary...but no, we have to have someone else buy it for us. No matter what the "law" is, people under age are still going to drink alcohol. the only difference is that other people will have to buy it for them or at restaurants and bars you won't have tons of drunk 18 year olds...they will be denied sales.  but you might just end up with a bunch of drunk 21 year olds....so either way it won't change much. but I wish they would lower the age here to like 19 or 20...just so that my husband and I could purchase it. cigarettes are age 19 so alcohol should be the same.  at 19 your out of high school.

  2. yes i would

  3. Whats the difference, Brits are lushes anyway.

  4. no, if you tell them not to do it then they are more likely to drink at a younger age

if it remains at 18 then they will realise that they have less time to wait and act more responsibly

  5. A most definite Yes.

  6. Yes it should be increased! Also the parents of underage drinkers should be made responsible! I started drinking at a very early age and it totally destroyed my life and the lifes of those around me!

  7. I'm puzzled by - "Increase in the minimum."

how could it be possible to take a minimum of anything and increase it?  I'm still puzzled................... it is no longer the minmum.

  8. No I wouldn`t, there are many young people who go out to have a good time not just to get drunk, why penalise these people, if a person of any age wants a drink they will get it somehow, they do now.

  9. Yes, but I think teenagers would still drink.  I started drinking at 14 despite the legal age limit of 18.

  10. The age is 21 where I live and it makes no difference.  Teenagers will always find a way and the law isn't enforced unless some problem comes along.

  11. Well im 16 now and iv been drinking for bout 2 years so it doesnt stop people from doing it just stops them from buying it so i disagree there is no point.

  12. Yes cos im 22!!!

  13. Yes-very much so,something needs to be done about teenage drinkers, they also need educating properly about doing it responsibly,we're lucky in that our 17yr old Daughter doesn't behave irresponsibly and we're confident she won't go out getting legless like some of the other kids, but that's only because we raised her correctly. If parents can't be trusted to do the right thing though and bring their children up right then the Government needs to step in to do something.

  14. It wouldnt make any difference it it was 21. Teens as young as 13 drink, ive seen them!!!

  15. Yes i do they would not then be able to drink in pubs and clubs. Also it will be easier for the police to control on the streets drinking.
