Would you support uniform for public schools

With the number of student- on- student attacks at our public schools, and the ever increasing pressure on kids to be accepted and popular. Do you believe a policy to wear uniforms in our public school would help. Is there an un-needed pressure on kids to look trendy in school that may effect the behavior of those that can and cannot.

  1. It definitely depends on the school. There is a public school in my area that has been plagued with gangs and violence.  The dress of the students was getting offensive and inappropriate.  School uniforms were enforced and I think it was a great idea for this particular school.  I don't think it's a good idea to generalize all public schools as being alike. Depending on the area of the school, the teachers, and the students each school has different needs.

If the student-on-student attacks continue to increase I would consider uniforms. However, I would consult with the administrators, parents, and students as much as possible before making that final decision.

  2. HAHA no. you'd be taking away said students' creativity and freedom of expression.

  3. I think uniforms are more cost effective, and kids don't have to worry about what to wear everyday. School should be about concentrating on studies aswell and too many kids worry about 'what they're going to wear' and 'whether they'll fit in'

  4. I really dislike the idea of uniforms in public schools. First, uniforms are expensive. You have to buy normal clothing anyway, so just wear it. Second, it wouldn't stop bullying. Kids would just find another way to pick on someone. Not to mention, there are usually many varieties of uniform. Who says they won't bully if someone wears a different uniform than they? Third, it won't help kids be accepted. Preps will still be preps. Jocks will be jocks. Nerds will be nerds.

  5. Yes, iniforms should be in schools. I put three kids through school and each one felt that had to spend $100 on each pair of shoes alone, They all played sports, the girls also were cheerleaders. The clothing cost alone could cost a small fortune. If uniforms policies were in place I could have spent that money on college instead.

  6. It's not unneeded to look trendy in school

  7. I liked them because it was easier to find something to wear in the morning. On the other hand, they are pointless. We still had cliques in highschool, jocks were still jocks and nerds were still nerds. Its not necessarily how you dress but, the way you act. So if you want them for convience on dressing in the morning thier great. If you want them to equalize students so everyone is equal... its not going to happen.

  8. i personally want uniforms for my school but thats because my school has lots of wealthy people that depend on brand name clothing like juicy coutre and such. i think it would help because everyone would be wearing the same thing

  9. it is neccessary, bcoz the UNIFORM only shows the real character of the students, especially public school students...
