I need to take a trip home to bring my son home to see my parents ($800), my son needs dental work done ASAP ($200) and I need to pay H&R Block for taxes done ($330) and this all needs to be done very soon. I currently have about $400 to spend on these things with another $150 being paid back to me this week. So I have about $550 to pay for $1330 worth of things.

Once my taxes are paid for and filed I'll have about $1000 back, when ever it is that the government will send it to me.

Should I take a loan out and pay it back bit by bit until I get my tax money back?

What should I do, ask for an increase from a small loan from CitiFinacial, do to a payday type thing, ask for a credit extension on my credit card? I checked and my bank won't do a loan as small as I need and I don't want to take out a huge loan, even if I'm not using it.

None of these things can really wait, my father is not well and I can get a good seat sale price to fly home but I have to by this week...

  1. on the visit home, maybe your parents could float a loan for that expense.

if the dental work is an emergency, then that should be a priority.  the other stuff could wait till you have the cash.

  2. So you give each one a little and they know you're alive and contributing. I would postpone the trip if I could and/or use the credit card (there is a sense of emergency here) but consider that the credit card is for emergencies only and those bills to be paid as soon as possible. You do indicate that money will be forthcoming, so, don't stress out too much.
