  1. I would. Just say, would you consider X amount and they will either say I need the full price or give you a counter offer. It doesn't hurt to ask.

  2. If its a dealer ask them if they can come down on the price.  If it is still not what you want to pay for it, tell them that you are going somewhere else and go to walk out.  9 out of 10 will call u back in, if they dont... then really go someplace else and do the same thing.  Pin the dealers against each other (ex: Well "x dealer" said they would give me 3,000 off the price, i'll just go back there") type of thing!

If it is a private seller, find some things wrong with the car (dent, scratches, rust) then just try and talk them down

  3. Always...just do your research as to what that car goes for and most credit unions will give 2 to 300 above cost...that is all they need.

Tell them what you are willing to pay for it and don't back down.  If necessary walk away.  I just did this and they came to call me to come back...got what I wanted too.  Got a 2009 Camery LXE

  4. Offer them what you think it's worth and are willing to pay, take it or leave it.

  5. Put the ball in their court - offer what you're willing to pay. The worst thing they can do is say no.

  6. this is what I did. I found a 2006 dodge ram 1500 for 10000. I told the guy (i showed proof) that the same make and model was on sale for 9000 and it had less damage, miles etc. I got the truck for 8500. So if you give them an offer of (x-1000) so you'll be in control. If they say no tell them you found a extra dent, the engine doesn't run good etc. Give them a reason to lower the price and they will.
