Would you talk to the neighbor?

we were pretty friendly with the mid. aged couple next door.we also have what's called an access road between our houses.(it's just a little road not paved for the farm machinery to get through)the township asked him to move a decorator fence that was on the road and in the way.Immediately he pointed to my house and wanted everyone surveyed knowing we weren't exactly sure where our property line was and put a fence up that may or may not be in the right place.there is a burn pile on our side of property that had a concrete slab that came with our house.we put our fence on this side of it so they could use it too.(seeing how we're such nice poeple and all.it got to be a huge heaping mess where he burnt mattresses and furniture,brush,carpet anything) so I spent 4 hours cleaning it out .there was a huge concrete pad under it , kids and i got rocks and made a new pit in front of the slab and put table and chairs in front .this man threw a fit.would u be 1st 2 make nice?

Don't burn your bridge, even he burnt a mattress.

Neighbors are there for a long time.

Invite them over and have a lemonade at your new spot. He may see that its a nice spot to gather with friends.

Neighbors can be hard to deal with at times, no matter where you live.  In my honest opinion, I would be the first.  But does it matter really who goes first?  It will work out for the best eventually.  I always say never know when you're gonna need that neighbor one day.
