teach me this..i don't get it....i can't understand.

i wasn't born with the english. so

the story is that..................

First Job

"A young family moved into a house, next to a vacant lot.

One day, a construction crew turned up to start building a house on the empty lot.

The young family's 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in all the activity going on next door and spent much of each day observing the workers.

Eventually the construction crew, all of them "gems-in-the-rough," more or less, adopted her as a kind of project mascot."

They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they had coffee and lunch breaks and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important.

At the end of the first week, they even presented her with a pay envelope containing ten dollars.

The little girl took this home to her mother who suggested that she take her ten dollars "pay" she'd received to the bank the next day to start a savings account.

When the girl and her mom got to the bank, the teller was equally impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay check at such a young age.

The little girl proudly replied, "I worked last week with a real construction crew building the new house next door to us."

"Oh my goodness gracious," said the teller, and will you be working on the house again this week, too?"

The little girl replied, "I will, if those as*!#!es at Home Depot ever deliver the fu*#'ng sheet rock..."

(Thanks Joe)

  1. ok so easy english: it is a joke. first they tell that the girl is very good and very innocent. later on the story says that the girl is not innocent and good as she seems. if she was sweet and innocent she will not curse like that.

    wat language do u speak?

  2. This is a joke. For most of the story the reader is made to believe that the sweet little girl is learning good things like work ethic and financial responsibility from helping the construction workers.

But at the end, she swears at the bank teller. This shows that instead of the good qualities we were expecting, she picked up the bad language that construction workers are known for.

  3. I think it is about the people you are with

if you are with bad people and they use "bad" words then you would start to do the same thing

if you are around people that are nice then you will be nicer.

if you talk or are  are around bad people and you think of them as the people you look up to then you would want to copy them to be just like them

that is what happened in the story with the little girl

the people that she was around spoke in bad words so she thought it was ok to use those words.

    i hope you understand

    good luck

  4. It means that kids are very impressionable. They will pick up everything that happens. The moral is a confliction between good and bad. On the good side, the girl learned how to save her money that she "worked" for. The bad is that she picked up a cussing habit.

  5. It sounds like a joke to me. The teller was talking to the little girl like you would normally talk to a little girl, and she says some of the dirtiest words in English--words she learned from the construction workers.
