  1. Here are a couple of websites that might help:

    http://www.beachwizard.com/country.asp?c...

    http://www.wannasurf.com/spot/Europe/Net...

  2. I'm not expert having never even been close to a surf board, but there is a Dutch surfing association http://www.hsa.nl/ and theyhave a contact page, so maybe this is one idea to follow up on (writing a mail in English won't be a problem)

To get decent tides, you would have to travel to the beaches on the west coast such as Noordwijk, Scheveningen etc.  Amsterdam does not have a coast directly on the North Sea to speak of, so the west coast is your best option.

Here is their links to schools and shops in the Netherlands http://www.hsa.nl/content/shops-scholen

  3. The only wave surfing in the Netherlands that I know of is near Wijk aan Zee, at the 'noord pier'.

To get there by public transport you can take the train to Beverwijk, a bus from there and walk the last mile or so.

Wet suit is needed (the people who surf there told me,) and the waves will be minimal compared to those in the surfing countries.

I do not think you will find good surf shops in the Netherlands, but there might be some that have some surf equipment.

A place to meet others going to surf is Timboektoe, you can contact them with the info on this site:

    http://www.timboektoe.org/main.php

I live near Wijk aan Zee, therefor I know about this surf spot, but I am not a surfer and therefor I do not know about other possible spots.

Windsurfing is a bigger sport in the Netherlands, you will find much more info about that.

If that is what you are looking for, ask, add to your current question or ask a new one, and we will help you with searching.
