  1. Sure.  I'd tell it to invest in some high grade synthetic oil.

  4. Did the person smile (even if it seemed automatic)?  Was your drink correct and prompt?  Were you acknowledged in a timely manner and your payment processed quickly?

    If you answered yes to all of these questions, then yeah, tip the person.  Maybe not as much as you normally would, but still, tip them something.  

    Bartenders have bad days too.  Their dog could have just died; they could have had a fight with their significant other.  Unless you are always 100% peppy and perfect at your job, reserve the judgment and try to be a little understanding.

    HOWEVER, if this is someone you have encountered several times and gotten the same robotic service every time, then that's a different story.  I would still tip because I worked in the food industry, but probably not much.

  5. Sure.  I think a couple of 10-24 screws and some copper wire would be fair.

  6. Probably give him a can of WD 40 if the service was good
